Kowloon Walled City has inspired several films and games, and still does apparently (such as Stray and this game), even though it was demolished 30 years ago. The origin and history of this place is stuff of legend, and that's why it continues to fascinate us.
In an old urban area in China, fifteen years ago, many places were almost identical to this game. Next to the place where I live, there are shops selling paper figures (a Chinese tradition of burning paper figures to accompany departed loved ones) But most of those old urban areas have now been demolished. To be honest, I feel a bit nostalgic for that place.🤣@@Saintmadman

I lived in Kowloon, not in Kowloon Wall City but a district called Mong Kok (usually refered as MK) until I was 15. My apartment looked almost exactly like in the game with lighting and shit at night.
it was an amazing little spot. it's now an open park where the centre square is still honored. my grandma (who lived in similar accomodation in quarry bay) stairwells looked exactly like that
The thing about these games is, I wish they were simpler. Dogs, arms, locks, crawbars, witches, also is it just me or the main character teleported when someone charged at him near the beginning? But watching Martz play makes it more interesting. A friend of mine invited me to try making a game, we'd make a horror game. I didn't end up participating, but the point is that I didn't understand why he wanted a horror game so much when he doesn't play many horror games. Now I know... I think I get it. Lol.
