GREAT review! It’s 2020 and I’m yet to know of a recorder that can send to my phone !!! Anyway, I’m looking for a good recorder for melody ideas and my podcast on the go. I’m looking at the Zoom H4n (it’s big!), the Sony pcm a10, or the Roland reviewed in this video. What do you recommend ?
Roland definitely needs file transfer by Bluetooth or WiFi. That’d be a game changer. I love c so king audiobooks voiceovers with my Roland but having to transfer by cable or micro SD adapter is a nuisance.
I just ordered it from Amazon $90, I Love my Tascam DR-40 but I needed a remote with feedback, The Tascam remote is a wired switch so you never really know if it is recording or not and I cannot always see the light so I wind up walking back and forth to a from the Tascam. I would just continue to live with that if the R-07 was still $200 but at $90 I will give it a try. If the sound is OK and the remote works I will sell my Tascam, We will see....

It's nice but the R-05 was way better. Line level inputs and outputs, dedicate switches, better shape. Still though not bad, you get them for $150 in a lot of places which is cheaper than what the R-05 went for.

Still got my R05 that I bring to all my audio and visual projects as a reliable backup device!!!

External speakers are useless, Bluetooth stopped connecting, I paid full price to, I couldn’t reccomend this Roland r 07 to anyone
I cant update the firmware for the life of me. Must have a bad SD card.
