Roland digital piano indeed and yes she doesn't like its feel (she's used to "real" pianos and has one at home). But of course digital piano is much more convenient on stage, and much easier to mix in a band context.
@@realdocloco The digital piano is a godsend to techs and roadies everywhere. If you have also watched Thje Warning Live form Pepsi center you will note that is what Pau played during her two solo spots just before Enter Sandman. 13:25 Asami comes from a R&B background, like I' m sure people have already pointed out... She hardly, if ever, goes into the head voice at all. Her incredible power is within that chest, to the extent where she is apparently more comfortable belting all of it, as high as the notes may come. Truly rare, I think, because it is natural to go over into head voice as one gets higher. P. .S: Together with "Glory to the World", which you already saw, this is probably among their songs where the vocal lines are consistently high, and reach up from there. In others, the thrashers, the more groovy or rocking songs, Asami uses her powerful mid- to-low range a lot, and to great effect!

The last chorus when it came in, it returned to the same key as previous chorus. The previous key change was going into the guitar instrumental. Another song suggestion is Dystopia Symphony. No recorded live performance on the song, just the studio album version. Miyako incorporates a couple of Beethoven's composition melodies into the song, just played at a blistering speed. It was a song dedicated to Beethoven.
Miyako (lead guitarist/pianist at stage left) is a generational talent who is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. She has been classically-trained on the piano since the age of 3. Miyako also composed & arranged "Swan Song" and this track is a neoclassical metal masterpiece. Throughout the song, you can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (Chorus). Miyako's piano intro is Chopin's "Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor", aka the "Revolutionary Étude". BTW, it's still the previous bassist, Miho, in this video. The new bassist, Fami, joined the band in 2022. Asami (lead vocalist) is a mezzo-soprano who can easily drop down to the lower range of an alto when necessary.
The back story of Revolutionary Etude connects to the lyrics of Swan Song. You should try a phenomenal sustain of Asami in Edge Of The World th-cam.com/video/jQKf8Dy_chA/w-d-xo.html. She makes high notes in Soldier Stands Solitarily th-cam.com/video/30yWisiRBuM/w-d-xo.html. THIS IS bass tapping by Fami the new bassist. She was a high school girl then, a genuine prodigy th-cam.com/video/30yWisiRBuM/w-d-xo.html.
You can see why this song is requested so frequently. Miyako a great pianist and composer that knows how to intertwine classical with metal just perfectly. She does go from guitar to piano quickly but in Frozen Serenade she goes from piano to guitar even faster in which you didn't make mention of in your reaction. This is the former bassist Miho and not the present bassist Fami. Glad you had the lyrics up and I know you mainly focus on the vocals and instruments but the lyrics in the song are rather deep. Recommend Edge of the World live 2020 next.
@bigg2988 Yes, on Frozen Serenade it is amazing the short time frame from Miyako on piano to her playing guitar. It's like she had the pick taped to the guitar 🤔

Lovebites makes me me feel safe, but they also put me in a very very good mood just knowing that musicians such as they are actually exist in the same moment in time as I do. We are so fortunate to have them....and this song moves me every time I hear it. It is magical. "SSS" is on a another level musically, but "Swan Song" is far and away the most beautiful piece of music I've ever hear (Well, not including Tchaikovsky of course.)
This is one of those performances where if you didn't know much about them, you would realize that you are dealing with world class musicians at every position and you just sit back and be amazed at the great experience. For a song that would fit in a Castlevania game check out Winds Of Transylvania live and get blown away! 🤘🐺🤘
that's been one thing that grabs me every time i watch miyako's chopin intro. the way that each hand is playing out of time with the other. i know she's trained since 3 years old but come on - it takes a special kind of talent to do what she's doing. i believe that piano is a roland gp609 and was surprised to see it only goes for 9 grand. i would have thought it would be more
Nice observation about Miyako's choice of holding a guitar :D Unfortunately, she started to wear pants lately, so no more breathtaking underwear solos :) I think one of the best songs to judge Asami's range is Edge of the World. She holds a really long note at the beginning. Actually, all 3 of holy E trinity (Empty Daydream, Edge of the World and Epilogue) are very good, they are like ballads (at least, partially). Frozen Serenade is also worth listening.
To hear Asami improve the vocal to near perfection on this song, (better English pronunciation, and note rolls in the chorus delivery more closely mirroring the excellent studio version) see their official video from 2023. It's the one most people recommend against because the piano intro is not included, and the instrument mix isn't as good, but vocally it is a thing of beauty. th-cam.com/video/bK21cuI-V7c/w-d-xo.html
Yes, these women are just beyond belief. Again, their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. Miyako embeds her classical training into their metal stuff and it is an outstanding plus. Somebody commented that Miyako might not be the best guitar player and might not be the best pianist but her level at mastering those two instruments is just outstanding and probably unmatched. Another excellent track is “Dystopia symphony” (only audio); another masterpiece composed by Miyako that is based on Beethoven’s “moonlight sonata”.
I have 3 recommendations for you, all by Lovebites. One is a ballad called "Epilogue" (live version ofc), where you can hear little different side of Asami's voice, second is "Soldier Stand Solitarly" (live version ofc) where she's throwing some serious high notes and 3rd "Thunder Vengence" (live, always live ;)) where she's using a lot of low notes.
Asami can belt up to an F5, she does it routinely. Check " Holy War and " Edge of the world. " 😏❤️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘Btw, any video produced after Oct 2022 will have Fami in it.
Vocally, you might enjoy Liar th-cam.com/video/YWHPfnJz2qk/w-d-xo.html It's a song Miyako wrote for her previous band. In it, Asami has an A capella section, uses some falsetto, and there's a key change (which is beautiful). Very melodic solo and Asami's vocals are great, but I don't think you get her full range. It's hard to find one song where she does everything that she can.
Great reaction-this bro knows music for sure. Respect! This is Miyakos masterpiece, one of them for sure. This song just has to be one of the best metal performances in the last 20 years. You should react to Eagle Fly Free piano cover-Miyako will blow your mind dude. She is s real treasure-her music power is limitless.
Ok. Challenge accepted. Another LOVEBITES song with: - Piano intro. (Franz Liszt , "La campanella") - Great melodies (based on Liszt song) - Great solos(intro +A+B+C+outro) - New Bass player FAMI (in all songs after 2022) - Bass Solo. - Piano play IN the song (not Miyako) - Vocal range (from low to very high) - Key changes in it. Miyako put out a LP of 6 metal songs she converted to piano classic pieces which is stunning. Try Helloween's Eagle Fly Free on a stunning piano you will really enjoy.... th-cam.com/video/-h3BLRs0Xr4/w-d-xo.html Miyako is a musical savant but her genius would be wasted without her insanely talented band-mates who can play her creations especially LIVE. This band will always surprise and NEVER disappoint. They bring class, humble personalities, love of their music, and devotion to one another and their fanbase (Wolfpack). Miyako can construct anything in her head and is often doing it while performing I bet. She is a Star Wars fanatic, a gear nerd, and off stage she is a riot to be around and her real personality shines (check her YT channel for all of that). Asami on vocals really brings her ballet training to bear during this song in her movements.

Actually, Miyako explains in one of her own videos that she was dissatisfied with this Roland as it had platic keys. Her own Yamaha was gifted from her parents and she paid herself to have the keys upgraded to ivory. Nittpicking much? 😅
Wasn't it that Miyako had an issue with playing too fast so that those "plastic keys" couldn't flip back fast enough? I still prefer this outro to that one in 2023... which she said was more like she planned to do it...
@rainerzufall42 I believe she didn't liked the "feel" of the plastic keys? She is known to be quite picky on her equipment. Unlike Midori, she does use analogue pedals and likes to mix n' match until she gets the sound she likes. Same with her Deans where she switched the PU's. I love her Geekish take on music,, just as well as being a Star Wars fan.
@@andreaspedersen3952 She's IMHO also doing the quality management for LOVEBITES, no wonder that they use high end material ("hard"- and "soft"-ware). I guess, you need to be this kind of a control freak to make it perfect. I like this approach!
ASAMI’s highest note is heard in JUDGMENT DAY, where she goes up three octaves in the last verse. In A FROZEN SERENADE, three beats separate MIYAKO’s last note on piano from the first note on guitar. The new bassist? Consider the date of the video.
Hi from France: I have been a die-hard LOVEBITES fan since 2018 and I love this band, its compositions, its stage performances, the virtuosity displayed by each of the members, their interaction on stage and of course their charisma. But, there is always a but... I was born at the same time as rock in the US (yes, I am not very young in life anymore, except for this music) and I fell into it at the age of 6 and, for me, on stage, rock must be able to leave a little room for madness and improvisation. However, LOVEBITES uses Backing-tracks for each piece played live, which gives magnificent musical atmospheres and colors, but confines them to a playing rigor that does not allow them to stray from the axis line of the piece played (like Band Maid or Nemophila or Asterism...). A bit like classical concert performers who express their artistic feelings on subtleties that have nothing to do with the world of rock. See "Honkai (本懐) | Spin Off" or "Hate? live" by Band Maid to understand what I mean. Reading the 5 DVDs and their various streaming, their concerts, this is the observation that we can make, this side a little too orchestrated and rigorous. It's just my feeling. However, these musicians are real virtuosos very pleasant to listen to and see and I never get tired of them, certainly one of the best things that happened to the world of rock in the last thirty years (with bands like Band Maid, Nemophila and many others mainly coming from Japan). And Midori (blond hairs and ESP guitar) is definitely part of my top three guitarists in the history of rock...
Fami, the new bass player is a young(er) girl and joined the group 2022/2023. This is 2020. This is the original old ladies, in their early thirties when this was recorded. Fami is 20+ today.

i think that the highest note i have heard asami to go up to is the final one she hits in the mv for 'when destinies align'. she goes high in 'holy war ' and 'set the world on fire' but i think this one is higher : th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html
I assume it has already been explained below that this performance was before Miho (co-founder and original bassist of Lovebites) retired, because no bassist carries her instrument as cool and deep as Miho does! She is a fantastic bassist and I admit, I miss her in Lovebites - but the "young blood" Fami represents a young type of bassist and is also a fantastic bassist in her playing and, incidentally, has raised the average height of Lovebites. 😜 Now Miyako is no longer the undisputed tallest in the band in terms of height (on a, admittedly, low level - for all the "long noses" in the world). Lovebites stands for me as such a fascinating, incredibly good metal band in our world, that I am currently having a hard time finding comparable class in the modern music world.
Asami's voice is unique and amazing. There is also a singer with a singing monster called Mari Hamada in Japan. Try searching for Mari Hamada when you have time😁
You can almost see the energy, but you can certainly feel it while they play this song. Such a Masterpiece! I think you will love 'Epilogue' th-cam.com/video/JIAJYBuuKGM/w-d-xo.html or "Liar" from their channel. Thank you so much for covering this song. 🍻
Speaking of piano players check out Yuja Wang and Khatia Buniatishvili. Although there is no vocals Yuja especially shows incredible power and speed for someone so tiny.
New sub here! Please try "Lost in the Garden" with Miyako's piano intro: La Campanella, from Franz Liszt: th-cam.com/video/HfPGDVx3d14/w-d-xo.html In this video you see the new bassist Fami, always with a smile on her face! Enjoy
Otherwise... apart from your “mistake” at the beginning... good reaction... even if most commentators, pianists included, will “never” point out the indecisions/hesitations of Miyako's left hand... she knew it and had said so... pointing out this piano that had been “imposed” on her and that didn't suit her...

LOVEBITES Asami & Miyako Rising Acoustic Version th-cam.com/video/wUWENwVWcoU/w-d-xo.html
You are quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors. Keep up the good work. Lovebites rules!! ❤😎🤘
Cheers! That means a lot honestly 😊
Theyre all wearing shorts under the dresses.. Lovebites embodies elegance..
For "Swan Song", Miyako used two of her favorite classics: Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony" 🤘
Asami has mezzo-soprano range, guitarist/pianist Miyako has soprano range.
In "Frozen Serenade" it is literally 2-3 seconds from the moment lights go out on the piano to the point where the riff starts. 😵😍
@bigg2988 Yes, on Frozen Serenade it is amazing the short time frame from Miyako on piano to her playing guitar. It's like she had the pick taped to the guitar 🤔
Epic, majestic, masterpiece. 🤘👍

that's been one thing that grabs me every time i watch miyako's chopin intro. the way that each hand is playing out of time with the other. i know she's trained since 3 years old but come on - it takes a special kind of talent to do what she's doing. i believe that piano is a roland gp609 and was surprised to see it only goes for 9 grand. i would have thought it would be more
The subtitles in this video are incorrect - The one line should be "It is not the LENGTH, but depth of life that counts."
Musical masterpiece for sure.
Masterpiece!!
It is not known even in Japan, let alone the world.
Empty Daydream (one of the 3 E Songs) let Asami shine. And of course Epilogue
looking forward to it . A great song to explain why we (Wolfpack) love lovebites
Nice observation about Miyako's choice of holding a guitar :D Unfortunately, she started to wear pants lately, so no more breathtaking underwear solos :)
I think one of the best songs to judge Asami's range is Edge of the World. She holds a really long note at the beginning. Actually, all 3 of holy E trinity (Empty Daydream, Edge of the World and Epilogue) are very good, they are like ballads (at least, partially). Frozen Serenade is also worth listening.
I'm guessing Miyako designed and sewed the dress herself. So every detail is carefully designed and crafted to fit her legs and guitars perfectly.
Speaking of Vampire theme, pls.react live version of LOVEBITES WINDS OF TRASYLVANIA a ost of the vampire anime VLAD LOVE,thanks LOVEBITES RULES .🐺🤘🔥♥️
these Ladies are awesome, here's another side....Lovebites slips back to th 1980s SPELLBOUND th-cam.com/video/qG7hwU_RJnE/w-d-xo.html it's so cool
I will add them to the list!!
Six days later...... Gorgeous reaction for great epic song. I had no doubt it will be. Thank You.
17:44 Although the key has changed, it is the same as the first chorus.
🤘🏽LOVEBITESRULES🤘🏽
Most talented metal band to come along in decades. They are all immensly talented, however Miyako is from another planet. She is a mesmerizing talent.
18:55 “that woman” Asami, former ballerina, performs the dying swan.
We know how good this song is. But waiting 6 days to see your reaction is ruthless, almost a crime. Have mercy brother. 😊
Let's see, if he manages to be so patient...
Haha I do apologize I needed to take a bit of a break and then put scheduled as I recorded haha 😂
@@grieverproductions2022 I was kidding, don't worry. We love your reactions and I can't wait to see this one.
@@TL-MetalHead It's probably worth the waiting!
@rainerzufall42 I strongly disagree. Why "probably"? I'm sure it will be great and face melting reaction. 😉
Asami can belt up to an F5, she does it routinely. Check " Holy War and " Edge of the world. "
😏❤️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘Btw, any video produced after Oct 2022 will have Fami in it.
This song was played in 2020 so still with the old bass player and co-band founder Miho. The new bass player Fami joined the group 2022.
Behold, the power of Miyako! 😊❤😊
Another LOVEBITES song with:
- Piano intro. (Franz Liszt , "La campanella")
- Great melodies (based on Liszt song)
- Great solos(intro +A+B+C+outro)
- New Bass player FAMI (in all songs after 2022)
- Bass Solo.
- Piano play IN the song (not Miyako)
- Vocal range (from low to very high)
- Key changes in it.
"Lost in the garden" (from 2023 Album "Judgement day" )

Neo-Classical bliss... with surprises. :)
Parisienne Walkways from Liszt i think looks much harder for me
I believe that is Gary Moore, Miyako plays it on both guitar and piano.

Miyako put out a LP of 6 metal songs she converted to piano classic pieces which is stunning. Try Helloween's Eagle Fly Free on a stunning piano you will really enjoy.... th-cam.com/video/-h3BLRs0Xr4/w-d-xo.html
Miyako is a musical savant but her genius would be wasted without her insanely talented band-mates who can play her creations especially LIVE.
If you like the tapping and the harmonization of the guitars, I’d recommend Signs of Deliverance live and you’ll get harmonized tapping lol. I’ll find a link because I don’t think it’s ever officially been posted

Asami can hit A5.
I should say, can belt an A5.
You are interested in analysing the vocal? Check-out Edge of the World and Soldier Stands Solitarily, a little contrast there….

Hi from France:
I have been a die-hard LOVEBITES fan since 2018 and I love this band, its compositions, its stage performances, the virtuosity displayed by each of the members, their interaction on stage and of course their charisma.
Knew you'd like this one. It's not the new bassist though. 😊😊👍👍👍👍
MIYAKO had a Steinway grand piano in black, it's a present from their parents. On stage she use a white Roland.
Great!, even more things to be amazed ath, keep enjoying this artists!!
You need Fami in your life now.Tapping Goddess.
Asami’s voice reminds me of Pat Benatar. This was Miho on bass. ❤️🔥🤘🏼🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤘🏼❤️🔥
I would recommend ‘Solder stands solitarily’ which has the new bass player called Fami It also has more shots of Haruna aka ‘The little big engine’
Vampires? Castlevania? Dude you should check out their song Wind of Transylvania - live at Tokyo Dome City Hall 2021 th-cam.com/video/qd_qop5j1bs/w-d-xo.html
This one is still with the old bass player Miho. You haven't seen Fami yet. To see her, check out "Judgement Day," "Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)," "Soldier Stands Solitarily," as well as the version of "Hammer of Wrath" that was taken from the Knocking on Heaven's Gate DVD.

i think that the highest note i have heard asami to go up to is the final one she hits in the mv for 'when destinies align'. she goes high in 'holy war ' and 'set the world on fire' but i think this one is higher : th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html
more piano..lost in the garden...next
I think you will love 'Epilogue' th-cam.com/video/JIAJYBuuKGM/w-d-xo.html
or "Liar" from their channel.
Thank you so much for covering this song. 🍻
Paused to talk about Chopin and its difficulties which could have easily been pointed out before starting the video.
Yeah most likely. Just the way my ADHD brain works. It's more something that crosses my mind later and needs to get blurred out before I forget it 🙂
Speaking of piano players check out Yuja Wang and Khatia Buniatishvili. Although there is no vocals Yuja especially shows incredible

Demetrius Katafalque ?
At the end it is MIYAKO compilation, not CHOPIN!!!
