Comming out in a different century helped too in 22 years the animation industry evolved alot, it has nothing to do with budget , apart from Akira i dont see another anime that has an animation that you can compare to the todays standards (Sorry for my english)

And FYI thats a way english can be used in informal situations (like this btw). It's actually more clear than the formal one (as it specificates number) and closer to latin speak.

Good point! Neither Yugi nor Atem ever wanted to be king of games/duel king. Their motivations and dreams were always different. Being the best is Kaiba's dream and that's why I thnk he's so bitter than he never managed to beat them. I think Jaden is the only yugioh protagonist whoose motivation is to be the best duelist in the world now that I think about it.

He is THE best duelist in his generation, surpassing Kaiba (who he beat in DSOD) and Atem. So a weaker Yugi beat the strongest form of Atem ever, and then went on to get stronger by getting DM back. The only duelist comparable to Yugi in their “generation” (DM and GX) is Supreme King Yubel Fusion Judai who had a UDef against Prime Yugi (Yugi + Atem + God Cards) but technically, EOS Yugi mag surpass Yugi + Atem + God Cards so EOS Yugi may be stronger than Prime Judai. So out of the three “King of Games” in their generation, Judai, Atem, and Yugi, Yugi is unequivocally the strongest of the three. Now taking into account later generations like Yusei, Yuma, Yuya, and Yusaku is harder bit narratively Yugi is still likely the strongest.
You should watch Yugioh GX some time. For the brief moments Yugi is on screen there, it's hard not to realize that it isn't Atem, because they look exactly alike.

And that’s what I think they should continue doing because unlike other shows where they continue the story they know they’ll have to end it with a way to satisfy the audience while this way the writers don’t have to say goodbye to the characters yet and the story can stay within the people’s hearts and souls since a story isn’t over until the final chapter has been written and I feel like it’ll be a long time before that’ll be released.

Aside from the age differences, the only other difference I see is Miho. It must suck to be her right now, replaced by Joey's kid sister, and the guy that she has a crush on.
Only one question: Why stretching in 16:9 the original one? Beside the fact that like this it looks deformed, it would have toke the same space, horizontally. It would just have being "bigger".
Allow me to clarify, Miho wasn't a major character in the manga, she was only in one chapter. Duel Monsters went in a different direction from season 0 and she didn't make the cut since DM focused on more important characters. Honestly, her inclusion in S0 is weirder than her exclusion in DM. Like I said she was only in one chapter, and she was kind of a bitch if memory serves me right.
@@thyst8004 Yugioh isn't for 5 year olds. Its for a teen and up audience. The manga is so dark that even original 1998 anime couldn't adapt the dark scenes in the manga in the time slot it aired in. Same for the Duel Monsters anime that was used to market the Konami card game that released 1 year before it in February 1999. Also, the target audience for the Konami card game is 12 and up in Japan, which is the target audience for the DM anime. Overseas, they censored it, and lowered the age to 4 and up.
