Very true. Poor little dogs have to suffer with a shorter life and suffering because of inbreeding. Yet they keep breeding them, no laws against it.
Too right. Have a look at the skull of these poor inbred animals, bulging eyes that can pop out of the skull and severe breathing problems are common issues, all because someone wants a dog that says 'I've got money' or an accessory that matches their look. If you want a dog, and care anything about the animal's quality of life, get a mongrel, not a pedigree.

@@pammetje1 America is obsessed with having pets. But so many end up not even being able to pay their bills but they want to care for another living being. I think it is selfish. We need to slow down on the having pets fiasco. Stop breeding in general, unless for disabilities, military, etc. Even military is starting to lean away from it. So many homeless and mistreated animals and we just keep generating more.
I had a special needs son. There is just something about someone that helps special needs dogs that warms my heart 😊❤️

It's just a whimsical noun to bring mystique and prestige to a dog in pain, for instance if he was my dog I'd be constantly telling everyone he's a genius and an otherworldly being with sinister designs for the fate of mankind and to be honest I'd probably call him Megamind. Just adds a bit of flavor and intrigue but depends how theatrical you are and if you can turn a deformity into something cool. Anyway it's a shame what happens to all of these misfortunate animals but watching them all get loved and nurtured is truly beautiful. God Bless

As much as I like these videos I know people are gonna look at these dogs and only see their deformities as 'cute' and in turn seek out the specifically deformed dogs they saw, witch in turn will lead people to try to specifically breed these deformities into dogs Because people care about looking quirky rather than the dogs well being. I'm in no way saying giving these dogs the best life is bad, not at all, but by only promoting them as being all positives will be miss interpreted by some people. It's fantastic that is popular to be compassionate but some people only ever talk about how cute/aesthetic a dog is

We should stop breeding altogether, unless for military (don't judge me) or for disabilities. So many people get these puppies and then they don't find them cute anymore when the puppy gets older, all puppies im talking about. I've seen so many people have pets and they can't even put food on their tables or pay their bills. Pets are expensive, as they should be if you take care of them properly. We truly need to slow down on the having pets fiasco.

He has what my chihuahua has called “little man syndrome.” Meaning he thinks he’s the boss of the house and he thinks even if a dog is way bigger than him, he’ll find a way to boss them around.

In The Netherlands now its forbidden to breed the french Bulldogs with those short noses and too small skulls. Because the animals suffer from shortness of breath and chronic headeaches.

she literally said in the video that the dog suffers from Hydrocephalus which is a genetic birth defect that can also be acquired through tumours, viral infections or fungus infections. This exact same condition can occur in humans aswell.
This is not the result of any type of selective breeding where people want them to look like this.

He is a sweet pup, but we really need to stop breeding these animals this way for our amusement and satisfaction. Frenchies can’t even give birth to themselves, they’re prone to so many illnesses and live their lives struggling to breathe. Looking at those poor animals with severe underbites, eyes popping out of their heads, brachycephalic snouts, it’s cruel what humans have done to these animals. We need to acknowledge this and stop treating these animals like accessories. Don’t buy, adopt.
i have two frenchies, one is smaller and one is a very large frenchie, i’ve never seen one as big as her. and guess who the healthier one is! the big one. she has no snorting or breathing noises like the smaller one. i love her big size just the way she is. i can’t believe people try to make MINI frenchies, so scary and dangerous.
I adopted my Frenchie rather than bought from a breeder. Adopt, don't shop :)

Just about every breed of dog has some sort of health issue. I've had 9 Boston Terriers (who all lived to be 15-16 years old) since 1982. They have a great personality, intelligent, great with kids, and are great pets. Yes, a lot of them have to have a C-section, but a lot of them don't. Learn about the breed of dogs before you comment on them. Oh, and I happen to love my Boston Terrier's nose, snores and all. After all, we, as humans, also snore.

The physical characteristics of these type of dogs grow more extreme over generations. Over just 100 years, the English bulldog has undergone an unfortunate transformation. Unsustainable generations of selective inbreeding have exaggerated the breed's features to an unhealthy, extreme degree. Even an English bulldog from 1950 looks little like one from today. There heads have gotten larger and larger, putting stress on the vertebrae. Snouts even shorter, causing more extreme respiratory problems and overheating. Cherry eye, hip dysplasia, skin problems, ligament problems and other issues. Modern English Bulldogs rarely live longer than than 8 human years or just 42 dog years.
The work that I see done, through watching this channel is beyond belief. Thank you soooooo much for highlighting everything that goes on behind the scenes of these success stories. You are ALL. Truly amazing. Thank you sooooo much xxxx

I know there is nothing cute about suffering from hydrocephalus. French Bulldogs is a popular breed at the moment. The result is over breeding leading to more puppies with hydrocephalus. It’s not uncommon in apple head chihuahua’s , either.

Hydrocephalus is a disorder where there is too much fluid around the brain, and in puppies and babies this results in enlarged heads.
There's a high risk of brain damage, with symptoms like seizures, nausea, headaches, blindness, dizziness, bad coordination, spastic or high-step walking, weak backlegs, compulsive behaviours, irritability, learning difficulties, difficulty eating or drinking, restlessness, stunted growth, coma and even death.
@Randy Hilgeman there are just so many people saying that this is a cute dog, which is the very reason why breeders inbreed to get these traits.
We didn't do anything to that dog, though. People have disabilities like this too, does that mean we should treat them like problems? No, the same goes for animals. You give the animal the best possible life you can provide for it. Malcolm doesn't know he's any different, and he's clearly quite happy and healthy, even with a condition like Hydrocephalus.
@@pastelmask we did do something to that dog, that dog is the resulg of breeders pairing siblings in order to get desired traits, we dont pair humans together to give them deformities because we find it cute. breeders gave this dog that deformity, therefore malcolm is a problem. Also malcolm clearly isnt healthy
Please think about how the animal feels. It can’t see properly it’s eyes in two different directions and it muzzle is crushed so it more than likely has nasal issues that make breathing difficult. I don’t think this is cute in the least I just feel bad for the guy, honestly this is a tad bit disturbing
This dog in particular, as you are saying, looks REALLY unhelathy. Normally, I find the the breed cut, but this dog looks like it won't live very long.

I love the first family who fostered Malcolm, and I love the second family that adopted him. Thank you to both families for taking Malcolm in and loving him so incredibly much.

His nose is squished
But squished noses do very good in winter, because it blocks out the cold
But some have sinus problems so it’s sad :c
But besides that I adopted him because he needed a home, an escape to those disgusting cages.

@Eddy Jin it's true actually. And this problem exists mostly in American Kennels, where the appearance of the breed takes priority over health. When you pure-breed dogs, you concentrate genetic weaknesses. That's why in Europe, if a line is becoming, say, too skinny, they'll breed in a bigger dog somewhere to ensure the dogs the line doesn't stagnate. If the breed has say kidney troubles like rottweilers, they breed in a healthier dog to improve this quality. Same reason for the relative absence of hip and elbow displasia in European shepherds, and the same reason for a lot of mental instability in American Pit Bulls. This is like three out of five times. Otherwise the dogs are fine in appearance and performance up until about middle age. The other two dogs of the five will likely have health troubles earlier. And maybe once every couple of litters you get a monstrosity like this. This isn't with every breed. This particular breed along with dachshunds are prone to developing severe health troubles. The point is, if you breed dogs for their health and control factors like food etc, then it's possible to not have deformities like this at all.

@Eddy Jin so since you're determined to be ignorant and passive-aggressive, I'll condense what I said. You asked how my comment pertains to you and the simple answer is that pure-breeding is not an ethical practice. You don't have issues with your bulldog that you are aware of. But the breed itself is a problem. Their mussels are too short, and as a result they have trouble breathing, and regulating their temperature. Ever wonder why they get cold so easy? That's why. That's also why they are comparatively low-energy dogs. Because the shortness of their nasal cavity prevents them from getting enough air for their size. Their skulls are also too small for their brains, which means that they have constant small headaches. Similar problems occur with the breeds I mentioned in my other comment (which you clearly didn't read); Alsations for example are too tall for their musculature, and as a result suffer from hip dysplasia. Rottweilers are too broad and heavy for their legs, and as a result they suffer from elbow dysplasia. Dachahunds are too long for their legs, and as a result suffer from back problems early on. It's not as hard to understand as you seem to be determined to make it. Purebreeding dogs for their looks is more often than not a bad practice; certain breeds simply should not exist.
