    Thanks for this video. It reminded me 60 years ago when my dad made root beer and how good a cold glass of that was on a hot summer day.

      Oh that sounds amazing! I’m planning on trying some ginger but root beer soon but I’m hung up on the sassafras haha

      @@FermentedHomestead Dad mixed up his brew in the tub of a wringer washer. He'd then bottled and cap it (he saved his old beer bottles for this. Next he'd take the bottles out to a sunny patch of the lawn, lay them down in the grass, and let them baked in the sun for about a week. Every morning he'd turn the bottles.
      These are grade school memories from the 1950's and I sure I forgot something. I live around the Amish and they sell home made root beer at their roadside stands. It doesn't taste the same, good but not the same.

    Can't you just ferment the fresh mango instead of cook it?

    Hi Anna ! Thank you so much for the video, I double checked with Craig Fear's Recipe on Fearless Eating website, and i couldnt found answer. How weight 4-5 mangos? My wild mangos in Mexico are very small, different variety than yours, so I assume it could be 50% water and 50% mango (= total fruit 1.8kg - 360g each one average) Too much??? It is fermentating.... will see... :) Thanks

    I’ve made ginger beer and celery soda with a ginger bug before, but I’m about to attempt my first mango soda. The fermentation time for this recipe seems longer than I expected. Did that 7-day bottle ferment end up with and abv at all? Are the longer fermenting times because of how much sugar the mangoes have?

    Hello oh my I forgot to watch the ginger bug video lol HAPPY THANKSGIVING. I tried the clementine and carrots and it didn't turn out so I will try it again. I do have a question. Do you put ferments in a cold area or a warm area? I have heard different ways so I think that is what the problem. Thank you for sharing God bless stay safe and have a wonderful day

      I’m sorry it didn’t turn out, I hope you have better luck next time! The room they’re in is on the colder side of room temperature most of the time (68-70?) sometimes higher or lower. Colder is better than warmer, it will mold quickly with too much heat. God bless! I hope that helps!

      @@FermentedHomestead Hello it is okay lol the saying is if you don't succeed the first time try, try again lol lol, I think I just got to find the right spot ha ha. Yes that helps a whole lot. I think I know where to put them now because we have leaks through the back door and front door. The front we do not use that much because we have a parking spot in the back. We tried to get maintaince to fix the doors last year but they didn't so this will work to my advantage. Awesome thank you for the feedback, i will let you know how it goes. Thank you and you too. 🦃👍🎉💙🌸🌸🍂🍂🥘🌻😂🍒🙏🤩🍠🥰

    Hey, what’s the shelf life of a bottle when you keep it closed? And does it need te be refridgerated?

    • @FermentedHomestead
      @FermentedHomestead  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn’t think it would be too long, it should be refrigerated
