No he's not. He's doing it quite blatantly. This is OBVIOUSLY a means of getting more support. Not that he needs it, DP was by far one of the best shows on Nick. It never should have been canceled.

It was canceled. The only reason it had an ending is because Butch rushed it. It's blatantly obvious from the final season that more was planned. Nick canceled the show, but Butch was able to do a rush job to give it a decent ending.
He just laid down the best fucking plot I could think of for this show. He has to be working on a nee season, either that or he likes torturing us.
He seems like he really wants the show to come back, though Nick has the rights to it so it's up to them if it gets another season.
I'm sure they'd agree. Network heads are greedy fucks and DP is popular AF.
JoyStar If they do Nick better not mess up by putting it on their main channel. They better put it on TeenNick, where there is no new shows there.
+SAge69 not everyone has TeenNick or Nicktoons so putting it on those channels might limit the potential audience reach that could they could get by putting it on Nickelodeon.
PS I have both Nicktoons, TeenNick, and Nick Jr. I'm just pointing out that logic doesn't make sense. If you want the show to do well, then you should put it on a channel that has the most potential audience reach, which Nickelodeon has the most potential audience reach since its a basic cable channel rather than a digital extra channel.

See, all because of CN, reboots will always have a bad name. They're the reason reboots will always be shunned upon because they're the ones that started the trail of these terrible shells of the former shows. Just like Nickelodeon started the trend of nonstop continuations that eventually loses the show's meaning and what made it funny.
A reboot solely depends on who's in charge of it and where it'll end up. Reasons why I'm excited for the Animaniacs reboot. Half of its original cast will be back and Spielberg (I digress if I spelled it wrong) will take the wheel like before. Samurai Jack (Though they're not full series returns) has had an amazing conclusion to the series, and I have faith in Zim and Rocco (Though idk if they're making a full comeback)
Reboots can be good. All it depends on is who's manning it and where it's being manned.
Why not have two brand new Danny phantom series, where ones a reboot and the others a continuation? That way people who don’t want a reboot can have their half of the cake, and those who do can have their half. I’m not sure about those who generally hates reboots; I’m looking at the second comment, but it’s a win-win situation!

With all the inspiration from the media and the world building set, it could really flourish and wouldn't have the same restrictions a cartoon series would have.

This is so cool. Truly one of Butch's greatest works. So many parts of this chaotic realm not yet explored. Butch could make a whole new story about a new evil ghost trying to become King of the chaotic Ghost Realm by taking over influential parts of the Ghost Zone and fusing parts the ghost doesn't like to destroy the realms of enemy ghosts. Not to mention the whole afterlife aspect of the Ghost Zone. Plus the thought of an evil member of the Fenton family like a cousin or an older relative that is both a scientist and ghost hunter for evil ends would be great to see.
Vlad isn't a cousin or any relative form of the Fentons. He's just a bitterly envious ex-friend of Jack who was mutilated by past ghost portal experiment and used the powers gained from that experiment to become a glorified thief. Then as the series progressed he became more and more evil and crazy to fit his massive ego and hatred at Jack and Danny Fenton for humiliating him. I'm looking for someone with grander schemes in mind. Someone with tremendous intellect and skill, but not hindered by things like jealousy or random vendettas.
Now that I think about it, Danny was ALWAYS yelling.

It could also be just pitched ideas from season 4 that just was cancelled.
That's a regular thing. Albeit not really comparable since DP only has a loose story but for example Stargate Atlantis had the next season completely done in script and ready to start shooting, the season after that completely done story-wise but not as a final script and even after that they already had clear plans for the next season.
That whole Elsewhereness story... Dose it sound like a story for a new pilot episode to anyone else?..

I think it was just general ghost zone ectoplasm that he was infused with. Not a ghost itself, because then the same thing would have had to happen to Vlad, and the odds of that are highly unlikely.
What if half of Sojourn's ghost DNA merged with Vlad and the other half merged with Danny? Now that would make an interesting finale movie type deal.
Yup me too. By the way , I am not too sure about Danny and Vlad are this 2 got power means half alive or half dead because between ghost and human is means the soul and physical is huge difference world. Is so a mystery started to think when i was young.

I'm going to cry! This was like a blast from the past. We need a new season, Butch! Or at least a full length movie that explains all the things that were left. Vlad obviously had a plan. The asteroid was just an unexpected opportunity for him. What did he do with the Crown of Fire and Ring of Rage? And what happened to Dan Phantom? How is Danny coping with his identity exposed? How are the ghosts reacting to it? What were Maddie's and Jack's reactions after they found out? I mean, they accepted him, sure. But how are they coping with it? And what about Danny and Sam! We need those two together and doing boyfriend-girlfriend things! And what was Vlad planning all this time? He had to have had an ulterior motive! And you mentioned 'Anarchy in the Ghost Zone'? Explain that as well!

That was pretty much exactly what I thought. I had thought the Ghost Zone was basically the only afterlife in the DP-verse, but it being Purgatory makes a lot of sense. A bit like Corpse Bride, come to think of it.

Second, pertaining to said lore in the video, assuming the Elsewhereness actually exists, wouldn't ghosts like Clockwork actually know if it exists since he's omniscient?
Third, concerning Clockwork: if there's a ghost that controls time, could there be a ghost that controls space and most likely would be able to jump between dimensions at will without the need of a portal? Again, just thoughts that popped up after watching this.
Following up on this: I was thinking so much on it I'm writing a story about all of this! I can't draw too well, but I can write! Hopefully it's good!

If not as a TV show or movie, why not take Danny Phantom and crew to the realm of comic books? I mean, Aang got a comic book series. Korra's about to get a comic book. Sojourn the Traveler sounds like the perfect plot for an episode that should be made! I know these requests get made frequently but this series is so damn creative for a YA show. Like Butch said, it created its own unique lore like Star Wars and many more. Incredible Mr. Hartman very inspiring.

Especially if the Samurai Jack series is good.
If Nick owns some rights, I doubt they would ever let an "adult version" air on their channel, let alone another.

You know what I'd love to see? A tour like this of the "world" the Crimson Chin inhabits: what is the Fairly OddParents comic book universe like? Do Crimson Chin and Crash Nebula share a universe, like Batman and Superman in our world? Who are some of the other heroes in this shared universe, perhaps ones we haven't met yet? Personally, as one who is both an enormous comic nerd *and* a huge fan of your works, Butch, I would *love* to see something like this come together.

If _Danny Phantom_ was rebooted, what would be different? I would go all the way with either ghost stuff making it a borderline horror cartoon or I would go straight-on teenage super hero with sci-fi elements like the _Spectacular Spider-Man_ toon.
I hope that there will be some way made for you to expand on these concepts. You're clearly very passionate and it's amazing to see these ideas, even better to imagine if they were out in a continuation of the series, or some media form. Thank you. ❤

Sounds like the lost pages of Ansem/Xiahanort from Kingdom Hearts series. I imagine that one of the pages had an introduction and that was found. Its contents then spread like wildfire as ghost told another ghost who told another ghost and so on. Sounds like a pilot idea for a new season or movie. :)

Guypersonmanthing3 - nah just retcon Phantom Planet, there are a lot of factors in Season 3 that were good, like Danny's ice powers, Valerie finding out about Vlad, The Infi Map, and I did quite like Nocturne as a villain (after all he did have the perfect voice) who I hope they decide to give a better story if they revive the show.

Guypersonmanthing3 still it doesnt really need to be retconned, alot of shows have had their bad seasons, but can still redeem themselves in later seasons. Look at Arrow.....its 5th season has redeemed itself heavily from the boring and stupid Season 4.

This is sounding similar to a Dp/Fma fanfiction I'm trying to make, but the only way for Roy and Edward to be able to go is to remember their lives and accept them before they can move on. Now if I can get past writers block for it and figure out how to do it with Freakshow in the way, I can actually try to post it.
It's a RoyEd story though, if you like/can work past that feel free to read it on wattpad when I can finally get it on there.
okay so seeing how it's obvious that Danny phantoms revival if DONE RIGHT with the characters being older should work amazingly and with them the stories wouldn't be overly dark and edgy but slightly more mature like it could be better than legend of Korra ever was and as long as it has actual good humor and Not newer FOP or SpongeBob or any of nicks current live action shows type of humor DP could return as something truly incredible
