I should also mention that my daughter is in the same region right now doing a small stream & river brook trout video. She is staying at Northern Skies Resort which charges $1000 Cdn a week for a cabin that sleeps 4-6 anglers during off season (May/June and September). So that works out to $250 Cdn per person with 4 in a cabin for a week...very reasonable. The wild Brook Trout in that area are 8-18 inches in length. Good to hear! The area we did this video is known as Zone 10 and it is open year-round because local anglers are not interested in smallmouth bass. They want walleye and lake trout. So great place to fish in the shoulder months of May/June and September/October. Enjoy the start of the bass season!
It’d be cool to see a bass/pike type video that isn’t in Algoma. Does someone on the show live near there or something? Why are they all in that region?! Can we have something a little more accessible to the majority of viewers, such as the kawarthas, simcoe, Lake Ontario/Eerie, maybe even prince edward county? I bet most people watching are in and around Toronto, and Algoma is a pretty good drive for any of those viewers.
Thanks for your feedback. There are a couple of reasons why we've been shooting most of our Ontario videos in the North. The first is that tourism has asked us to focus much of our efforts in Algoma and NW Ontario because the operators in those regions are still recovering from the pandemic impacts, trying to attract anglers from USA back. The second reason is that when we shoot shows in southern Ontario, we receive a great deal of negative feedback from resident anglers who don't want us to promote rivers/fishing spots as they feel they receive too much pressure already. As a result, we are very selective about where/when we shoot shows in southern Ontario. This past year we did one on the Grand River and the efforts of "Friends of the Grand" organization. Certainly can appreciate your desire and we will try to accommodate but it is a bit of "no-win" situation for us in many ways. Again, thank you for taking the time to give us your valued feedback.
Thanks for this video of real people on real budgets!!
You are so welcome!

Big smallie will do that; put best friends at each others throats. 🤣 Great episode!
Gets me so excited for our bass season to kick off soon!
