@@Lou-fb9ii Unless they're in a padded film production tail designed to hide the knee, they're all showing knee at some point. And nobody is going to be doing aquarium gigs in a tail designed for movies.
@@CathasachRealta I think they meant in terms of swimming- I know it's hard to not show their knees when they come to a stop or are trying to hold their position, but when swimming as a mermaid I think it would be easier (and look nicer) to avoid using their knees to kick. Using dolphin/butterfly kicks that start from your hips and roll through your legs is actually a really fast way to move (like in this th-cam.com/video/ebMfr7n65_c/w-d-xo.html ) Then again, I don't know anything about mermaid performances, and being in there and maneuvering looks hard enough as it is! God knows I could never do what they do :P

I grew up in Florida, and as a child I went maybe a dozen times to see the Weeki Wachee mermaid show down on the way to Tampa. You do that enough times, you are CERTAIN as a kid that mermaids are real-- I'd seen them, after all! ^__^
I'm pretty sure there are some websites where you can get a custom made tail, they cost a lot and can weigh close to 45 pounds, but if you're looking for ones that will look like they're from the show, that's the real deal. For beginners though there are lighter ones made of less durable materials for less money.

This is an old comment but I've gotten that question a few times, I wear a necklace with a mermaid charm that has a pearl inside it, and I say that the pearl is enchanted to give me legs so I can co-exist with the surface world. They get excited and usually ask where they can get a pearl and I have to tell them that it's in a rare clam far beneath the ocean 😂
You can hold ur breath in underwater. But, trust me... It is very hard to hold it longer when you moves. Lots of stamina. I've been doing it last year. Trying to hokd my breath and move in underwater, turns out it less than 20secs i can hold than i hold my breath without moving anything. As far as i can hold my breath without moving, i can reach less than 1min only.
I have a fear of the ocean because I can't swim but damn they really did mermaiding justice! They can hold their breaths for so long, but if that were I wouldn't be so elegant going up for air lmao
I can't even imagine how much of a strenght they are hiding inside their lungs like wow
