Bro my cousin started following machoor....now he's whipping my ass most of our matches....his whole gameplay changed for the better🤣🤣😭😭 machoor got him right!
Machoor, thanks man. I finally hit Master and this video, the Oki guide and the Marisa matchup were invaluable. Wouldn't have got so far without these excellent videos.
Mate your videos are amazing. The way you explain or the things your explaining are so much easier to understand and use. I am a complete beginner and find your tips useful. Thanks mate.
You deMOLISHED that Manon at the end...SHEEESH! But for real, I've seen some of your other Ryu Tech videos, and i can see all of them at play in the examples. Stellar stuff and I hope to adopt the Shoto way from you.
This is absolutely great to see! I often tell friends who are new to fighting games that these games are like layers of rock-paper-scissors and this perfectly demonstrates that. 🥰
Exactly man and to get good at it you have to put your opponent in those rock paper scissors situations and when you’re out there you have to get out of it without taking much damage
Excellent tip, especially with the mix up variation. Integrated immediately in my next match after watching and got a quick 2-0 against a Platinum Luke that had no answer... A character I normally have trouble with. Thank you 👍🏻💪🏻
Dude this video helped me surge through silver into high gold and im steadily rising up. If i nick platinum with Ryu i am going to feel really really good. Seriously thank you
Drive rush > down Lk is a low that can go into mp or down mp, so i've started using that over down MK as it opens up more options (if you don't mind the decreased range)
sf6 is one of the first fighting games im really getting into, got into low plat with basically just the cmp strike/throw and some basic bnb combos. This guide seems super useful and im going to be incorporating the shimmy and other drive rush options into my gameplan. One issue I face is probably due to being too predictable, people often mash out invincible reversals/supers when they see me drive rush as a meaty. I'm trying to mix in pressing a light button early to basically intetionally whiff and then go into blocking when I feel it coming, but I'm not too sure if this is the best route and im also inconsistent at performing it. long ramble over, cool video and I'll definitely be looking at other videos on the channel to see if there's more tips for ryu since he's my go-to for now 👍
SF6 being one of your first fighting games and you’re already at platinum means you got potential! I willl make a video about how and when you can bait wake up supers and DPs.
If people are using wake up dps alot against you. I recommend you look up the "safe jump" technique" Basically you jump when They are on the floor, then land in time to block the instinctual "free dp" they would go for.
dunno if you talked about that somewhere in the video but DR with c.MP may be throw-able after block if you try a walk back shimmy after it. Sometimes its gets a little better or worse, depending on how deep your c.mp slides with the DI. If you are canceling the DR into the cmp very early, the c.MP slides more, and then gets grabbed with ease... It still very good, but the DR with sMP has its uses; it never gets grabbed while shimmying with walking back plus you can do basically the same things with +3 than with +4.
Great stuff. I just started to get the hang of DR. I was super diamond in SF5 but I'm almost diamond in this game after getting gold in placement matches for Ryu. I should have played the Beta 😥😥😥😥
Good video, I personally think after DR standing medium punch is the better option though. Crouching medium punch keeps you so close that wake-up grab beats shimmy, which gives the opponent more options to guess right with.
@@machoortv wow i'm also looking to buy an octa and get back to gamepad where i started (played SF2, i'm old lol! then just trying to play again my next SF which is SF6)
Hi Machoor, thank you for your tips! Question : Why don't you drive rush by beginning with two move forward, instead mk + mp? It looks less visible for the opponent no?
If you drive parry before moving foreward, we can see you will driverush because you became blue. But if we move before doing the parry, it's less visible.@@machoortv
Is there any trick or tips for drive rush after hit, for me is too hard be pressing forward forward because if you connect the hit and you didn't pressed it th3 rush don't come out
If my drive rush overhead punch is blocked high I usualy continue into the block with medium punch cuz most of the time the opponent will mash light or medium attack and it does counter hit then ex donkey into super 2 or DP. But its not 100% safe since he can just block forever
Overhead DR on block is +1, if you do standing medium punch afterwards (which is 6 frames) it will be like 5 frames vs 4 frames of opponent’s light punch, how will you win in this situation? Unless the character you’re playing against has a slow light punch like 6 frames this will not work
@@machoortv Yea after that I tested it in training mode, and the light punch counter hit me too far. But I guess my opponents just mash medium so thats why it works lol. I still need to learn more
@@machoortv Due to lag, I believe it is close to impossible to mash out a move exactly on frame 0. I might be wrong but I think it's worth testing and it would be easy to test with a friend. That way you can lab for with 1-2 frame delay. I saw it on another tutorial video though, so I could just be wrong.
