- Today is Freddie Mercury's birthday and to celebrate I decided to make a worst live version of his magnum opus, (I didn't intentionally make this for his birthday at first until I realized it was his birthday today). Personally I'm not the most proud of it but it turned out better than I thought it would be. There are some small rough spots that might be too nitpicky to care about and that's probably all I got to say about this.
Note: I decided to put the March of The Black Queen intro in just to give you some bliss and time to brace what you're going to hear.

It's called touring and sometimes singers can suffer from tiredness, sore throats, nodules on the throat which can do some serious damage if not treated.
This is clearly someone who is in need of time off and rest.
Freddie was human and like all singers, had bad days too.
He also very very rarely changed keys or tuned songs down to save his voice, instead going out and bursting himself every time.
Wear and tear, pushing and forcing cause stress as a perfectionist. I can relate.
It's also known as an old cassette tape that's now warped... & playing shity on an old shity cassette player
@@rickrack4812 well, he actually did sound that bad at those Japan 1979 shows, his voice was absolutely destroyed to the point where they should've cancelled the gigs. He never sounded as bad as this at any point in time before or after Japan 79.
The UK tour half a year after Japan was his strongest overall tour ever! Something must've happened in Japan...
@@patricksommer3971 he caught a cold before the Yamaguchi show, he sounded just the same as he did at every other Jazz Tour up to that point.

There was clearly more ,,Wrong,, here . Brians guitar was outa tune in the First part too. He gots a Tuned Guitar after the Tape/Orchestra.The only one in Tune with Freddys Piano was Johns Bass . THEN there is also a background Tape running in another kinda Key. And Yes , Freddys voice was worn out, too tiered . Normally Roger took over a lot of Vocals , but I can understand He couldnt do with all outa tune .

All these people commenting on how everybody has off nights, which is true of course. I wonder how many saw the description stating this was made from various sources pulled together to make a “bad version”. I could tell cos I heard some of these before and I knew they didn’t go together so I was going to point it out to the uploader but once I read the description, I knew he did it on purpose. But c’mon guys , Freddie could be off sometimes but not throughout the whole song.
I can imagine how difficult it was for the author to look for the worst recording of an opera fragment :-)
It's actually a pretty well-known instance.
The beginning of the opera section should have been 4/30 Fukuoka, when they played the wrong tape.
Why does Freddie's voice always crack in Japanese shows 💀?
It was usually where the tour legs ended and by that point his voice was quite shot from constant touring.
Wow, I can't believe Queen's performance was so bad they managed to travel through space and time as they were performing it!
Honestly I do appreciate you compiling all of these performances together giving us the objectively worst version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Though I do have two suggestions to make it even worse.
I think the worst "I see a little sihlouetto of a man" is 1st Fukuoka 79, because they accidently played the tape from the Opera tour, where Freddie initially sang the line, so it's just silent instead. I also believe the worst piano part at 4:25 is from 2nd Tokyo 85, where Freddie completely derails it on the last few notes.

@@Truewinner112 Because that tour (the Japanese leg of the Jazz Tour, played between April and May 1979) is infamously the worst tour ever vocally for Freddie. It was a combination of factors, but pretty much boils down to the band starting touring only one week after recording Jazz and having a very tight schedule up to the Japan tour, with very little resting between concerts. Plus, I think this was around the time where Freddie really started with the heavy partying, and that, along with the vocal nodules he had developed years before, resulted in him having his vocal chords completely destroyed.

@@luuulu9355 yes, you are absolutely right, even in my vocal opinion the worst is Kobe, for me it is the worst concert of Freddie vocally. Vocally Fukuoka is better than Kobe, but even in Fukuoka he wasn't fit.

sorry guys, don‘t you all hear the distortion of the instruments due to the old recording in between the sung bits? do you really think the voice could be clean and free of technical distortion then? furthermore fred sings another different interpretation of his own creation like he always did. have you taken all this into account? it says it‘s from 1979 and it sounds like some bad recording of a fan. that recording would only be valid without the technical distortion of a recording device of a fan in the year 1979. it sounds like recorded on a cassette. i don‘t think that this reflects the reality of this concert back then at this venue. that recording can‘t showcase anything because it‘s technically one of the baddest recordings i‘ve heard so far in my opinion. better listen to the recordings made by professionals from back then, when no pitch correction or autotune was present.
The recording is shit too you're right, but his voice was very strained and definitely not up to par on those days. Recording distorts vocals, but you can definitely hear the cracks of his voice due to bad technique clearly.

This is what you get when you record something on an old cassette tape and then let it sit in the heat most likely or possibly cold but mostly heat and then someday play it back on an old worn out cassette player or boombox... or a Hi-Fi high-end cassette deck with a bad belt drive or gummed up drive motor.
I guess you have to be over 50 years old to realize fact over assumed fiction here
The boys weren't infallible, they really did sound this bad sometimes. If it really was a problem with the cassette tape, then if Freddie's voice sounds way off then everything else should've gone to shit with it too, but here Freddie's voice is clearly shot but the audience and the other instruments still sounded normal, if you get my point.
Sounds cut and pasted of bad takes of different shows to make it sound as if the whole song was bad ?
