- In this episode we take a look at the Kutzall Carving Discs. I use these discs on all of my Maloof style chairs. From my rocking chairs to my bar stools to my dining table chairs. The discs are BEASTS when it comes to carving but are also very easy to control while carving.

Thanks for the demonstration and review. I've been looking at this technology for a while, and now I feel better about pulling the trigger when the right project comes along.
Glad I could help! These discs are beasts
I’m doing the very chair myself. This video is very helpful. Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful!
I have just started using this tool and yes I like it very much... I am caving a piece of Red Gum it’s a soft type hardwood and coming up nice... your technique is brilliant I must do it... Thanks again
Very cool! Good work!
Nice Maloof hat! Great video love the kutzall wheels! Stay safe!
Thanks 👍
So cool tool's
Thanks for watching
Very Cool Paul!
Thanks. Steve
You knocked that out fast !!
I try (-:
+1 to the guard advice. Didn't pay attention for a moment a couple of weeks ago while using the same kutzall and am very lucky to have only needed four stitches and still have ten fingers. Totally my fault though - these things are fantastic at removing wood. And bits of inattentive fingers. :)
Yes be careful, but at least you had minimum damage, Hope you recover well.
I'm in the mood for drilling.thaks for the video
Thanks for watching
I have used the extreme to do my project and it is awesome wheel I will use the gold wheel for cleaning up thank you
Right on!
Great video as usual. Wear an apron or at least tuck in your shirt. Saw a similar setup where the wheel caught a loose shirt and wound it upwards causing the tool to impact the face. Loss of teeth resulted.
Wow that's crazy!
@CanadianWoodworks Thank you forthe video. Can I skip the middle coarse disk and use the original extreme with original smooth only?
For sure I used the gray disc for the first 5-6 years. I did not know there was an orange one (-:
I just bought a ridgid corded 4 1/2 grinder and a kutzall disc and have a major issue. Yes I'm a novice on carving/using this attachment. My issue is that nut/washer will not stay tightened, it loosens after 5 seconds or less. What am I missing? Thank you (just watched this video for help)
Hmmm I don't know
First thing, that gopro mount is fantastic. Second how long did it take to get good at carving like this?
LOL we lost our tripod mount somewhere. I've been doing these style seats for about 12 years now.
@@CanadianWoodworks You just make it seem so effortless and the carving appears to be equally deep and wide on both sides. This must have taken a while to get this skill. Well done sir. And maybe you can have one of your guys make a go pro tripod out of some hardwood or something.
If you are standing directly next to a building, why would you fuss with a battery powered angle grinder?
Maybe to avoid the hazard of tripping over the cable when you're in the zone and just focused on the seat. Only reason I can imagine
It's really nice not having a cord, that's the only reason really. Also I teach and sometimes have 4 students all carving away, not having cords everywhere is nice.
Please
Please wear some Heavy duty gloves 🧤 with this grinder! We love the videos but remember you need your fingers ✌️
Gloves are a good thing but can also be a bad thing. Practice slow moves and always respect the tools!
Hey Paul, can you do a video about air drying lumber for us amateurs at home? Would be awesome, thank you!
Yes we will try!
