Beautiful! I go out every morning 🌄 to check my okra flowers 💐, which are a lovely yellow. I hand pollinate it and the next day it starts to grow the fruit! Today, I picked my first okra. It was so exciting! I'm glad you talked about the tree okra. I am going to check my seed packet, because my plants quite unexpectedly grew 7+ feet tall!

Here is the technical name for the tree okra NKRUMA TENTEN OKRA. Im sorry, I just didn't know how to pronounce it. The pods are shaped a bit different than traditional okra. They are wide at the base then narrow at the tip. The flowers on them are much pinker than others.
Very interesting that you hand pollinated! We have SO MANY pollinator bugs, thankfully I don't need to do that. It's so much fun to grow your own okra. They are very prolific plants!

That's beautiful! I enjoy the flowers of my okra which are a pale yellow. But that one is special. I'll see if I can find the seeds. Thanks.

YES! the leaves can be eaten. All okra varieties have edible leaves, whether the okra is Abelmoschus esculentus or caillei. I love to cook them in soups or prepare like collards. They cook in less time hold up well and have a nice tang
