This is the day last year we let my only sibling, my younger brother go, he died that night in the hospital... He did get to hear Tuba Skinny on You Tube a few times and liked them. Life is totally different for me now, but Tuba Skinny has been a constant source of joy and escape.
Shaye commented that Erika has a health problem, in addition to taking care of her baby. I look forward to Erika's recovery and I pray for her, no matter what her religion coul be, so that I don´t know if she has one. She offers herself to all of us who admire her, those who hear the beauty of her voice and of her person. During World War II, we had a host of entertainers to carry us through to victory. At this time in history, we have Tuba Skinny and they WILL lead us to victory over the corona virus! Excellent job dear friends!
I love this music. My dad played trumpet in a jazz band from the time he was 11 until he was 18 he even had a scholarship to Iowa University but al he wanted to do was to fly fighter jets so at some point he became a pilot in the Army Air Corp ( he already had a instructors license,) he was a crop duster during the summer time from age 13 year until he joined the service . Col. Doolittle was the check officer and my dad passed his check ride with flying colors. He asked my dad if he had a instructors license my dad said yes sir he did . Col . Doolittle told him to keep it to himself and don’t act like a smart know it all . Dad flew in three wars WWW2 , the Korean War, and the Vietnam War he served 33 years total and retired as a Lt. Col .He is coming up on his 94th birthday. He never was able to play the trumpet again. He had a parachute accident and broke his teeth out and had to get false teeth. His armature was never the same.

Love your music. Cheers me up when I feel down. I own a 1961 Conn Artist, which I used to play in an amateur trad jazz band back in the mid-1980s. My father bought it in New York city, back in 1983, and it was very expensive: $80. It came out of a youth correction facility and is a bit scratched and dented.
I was watching it live. They were perfect as always. I'm looking forward to see them in a full squad (with Erika and Greg). Wish them all the best, because they are not only good musicians, but also good people. Don't forget to tip the band guys!!

Thanks Al ! This was a gem of a session, the best of the half-dozen since March. And it tickled me that they played my request for Jabbo Smith's "Michigander Blues" (16:35). We're going to miss them the next few weeks, but I am heartened that they have already asked us to hold a Friday/Saturday mid-August in Philly next year, 2021. That will be after they start their annual Eastern swing at the Newport Jazz Festival ! (LOL at being called "Bob Hope" by Robin afterwards .)

Well I sorry to hear that Erika is ill. Didn't know had a baby. My son and drove all the way from Chicago to hear them play it was May 2018. We really enjoyed the band. Bell soon girl.
