Yo sneaker I messaged you on your discord but it can’t go through and I was wondering if you can help me out with some pvp tips and tricks because me and my cousin have been playing sea of thieves for around 2 weeks and fought 15 ships and haven’t gotten a single win. Also I love the content bro keep making these bangers 🔥
To be honest, I just wish you could run whilst holding single hand items, or hold 2 at once, that at least compensates for the loss of loot juggling.

Nah removing loot juggling is just evil, I have never used it while running from someone (because you should just drop the loot and kill them) I only used it while transporting loot stacks, making a tedious and slow process have a legitimate skill ceiling and it was actually kind of fun.
You don't use loot juggling because you don't play the damn game.
i personally didn't mind it. it was difficult, yes, but sword hops came in clutch when avoiding snipes. and just making sure to stay away when their blunderbuss was loaded also helped. but if you got thrown in the air from the blunderbuss, then it's ggs
The biggest issue is when someone loot juggles a keg while swimming towards your ship. The keg glitches infront and behind the swimmer at such a quick pace that it's very difficult to shoot or counter. Which is not even mentioning how much distance they can gain in a short amount of time to keg you. I think the added sprint ability for 1 handed items is the better balance for moving loot faster
Removing quick swap was one of the main reasons so many pvp lovers left. I have seen so many people who have stuck with the game since year 1 just straight up leave because quick swapping wasn't in the game anymore.
It doesn't make any sense to me why they removed it, as EVERYONE CAN LEARN HOW TO DO IT. Most people even learned to quickswap on controller, back when arena was around. Just goes to show that the devs never even tried to understand the pvp meta or try to enjoy it 😭
The most frustrating part of the game for me is simply the fact I’m terrible at the tdm close combat aspect of pvp. It just doesn’t come naturally to me trying to learn its combination of movement, sound cues for boarding and just generally not letting the adrenaline get to me. It’s the only pvp game where my hands vibrate and my heart races from adrenaline.
i still feel that sometimes too. the heart is pumping and you're nervous because you get one shot. but that's also why i partially love this game. and i also somewhat suck at the tdm part, so i stick on cannon a good amount of time
Same here. I'm not interested in PVP at all. I play solo, and if I'm attacked, I'll scuttle. I never hoard too much loot, so I lose very little.
Same here as well, but all I want is a better way to practice without much risk. It's just to hard to practice hand to hand because the exchanges are so quick and they always turn the course of a fight. I think the best fix would be to allow killing teammates as a toggleable setting (to avoid trolls).
I like PvP. I am not good at it, but I will try to fight back when attacked. The thing is that it gets completely ruined by all the errors contained within the combat system. Hitreg and Reloadreg (If you could call it that) are a tedious thing to Deal with

Imo the most annoying change was removing the dig-animation cancel. Now it takes sooo long to dig up chests, and just feels . . . meh
I remembered logging back into the game, and finding out they removed the notch from the Dark Adventurer Sails, and I couldn't help but laugh.
I double gun but never quick swapped. Now double gunning is so clunky it makes me want to throw this game in the trash because im being punished for something ive never done with pulling my second gun out and it not going into ADS or firing sometimes untill i pull the trigger like 5 times. Its horrendous that a company this big cant figure out how to fix that exploit without fucking everyone else who didnt use it

I Use Loot Juggling Quite A Bit When In Water. My Controller Drift Kinda Makes It A Bit Hard But It Is Still So Good. Them Removing It Is Just Evil
I was talking with my crew about that harpoon boarding change yesterday.
It's kind of hilarious that they removed that very niche mechanic, and about a year later they are going to introduce a grappling hook gun that makes boarding easier then raising an emmisary flag😂

Good to know that 50% of my play time in future will be carrying loot because of the decreased speed
I remember when i first played sot, it was way before the sovereigns got introduced.
And after the first session i already felt like half the gameplay was carrying chests around tbh😂

I’m fine with the other changes but loot juggling is crossing the line, I use that daily and it just makes transporting stuff less tedious.
I don’t really use loot juggling now harpoons are sprintable I just harpoon as close as possible and it only takes 5 seconds of loot walking to a shop so Idk I think it’s balanced out
And with the loot sniper being added it’s going to be even easier
I've seen some good ideas about about reworking loot juggling. Basically, they remove the "exploit" and make it so that you have a stamina bar or something to run like normal for a lil bit before you run out of breath.
They really need to make digging treasure up better. Litterally shoveling, its brutal even just the 4 digs for a sloop, digging solo on a galleon is like drinking bleach
Wait wait wait.... I've never been on anything bigger than my sloop..... it takes longer to dig on a galleon? lol
I mostly just use a pistol and a sword since launch of the game just felt right now that there a new double barrel pistol i might hop back in to dual wield 2 pistols to see how that will work or just go sword and knife
I have an issue with the quick swap change, I have never been able to quick swap very effectively because I’m on controller, but sometimes I will notice that when I pull out my gun and aim down sites the shoot it does not shoot despite me pulling the trigger, it is very annoying and has cost me many fights
It's a thing rare did to counter original QS. It was extremely annoying and was in fact, wayyyy buggier back then. The problem that you had is due to the fact that you sprint too quickly after swapping. Back then during the nerf, it would make it so that even after a long time, the delay would still happen all because you sprint at all right after switching.

@@ranger887 Ik. Technically qs is a bug but it was such a widespread thing and the fact that you can do it without consequences, you cant really blame the players for it. It's absolutely awful that they nerf it the way they did, and made it so by attempting to do qs you get punished instead. I don't see why they had to fix it that way

You can still board without using the ladder if they have a harpoon/cannon rowboat. Just got to time it right with a high wave
I think they removed that too, you will get blackscreened, if you board ships via rowboat.

i have to agree sicne the reasoning they gave for doing it was the same reason arena was build for "for shorter sessions" if u watch the trailer for arena and the video for why they closed it it makes them look really retarded to say "it was less time spend in arena compared to adventure" when it was freaking build to be that way plus anything in adventure takes hours were in arena u was in the action within a few minutes and did not have to gather supplies forever to be prepared wich u have to do now yes the rewards are better but HG still makes me miss arena pretty hard lucky for me i got all the commendations and cosmetics from arena
@@Cubee4 i wish arena was still around too. But to be fair, already months before they removed it, the matchmaking took forever.
There just weren't that many people playing it anymore.
And i stopped too, because i didn't wanna wait 45 minutes for a 15 minute match.
Nowadays with hourglass the matchmaking is pretty much instant, and I'm actually loving it.

I think I'd play sea of thieves regardless of what changes we see come to the game in the future, no matter how bad or good. I think they could completely remove ships and I'd still play it. I don't know if it's because it's my favorite or if it's crippling addiction. please help.

Removing quick swap, Arena, loot juggle and the boarding tech as well as adding a new ugly hitmarker ruined the game for me. It just doesn't feel good anymore.
quick swap was fun and didn't give a huge advantage. But it did make pistol snipe viable against sword at close range, allow for cool shots like skeets and it was also a way to skip the ugly and clunky animation for swapping guns (like what is the point of having a gun almost 'bounce' in your hand, Stupid.
Most FPS games even embrace animation cancels as they are tech to learn and widen the skill gap. So there was no valid reason to remove fun from a game, its why people play it.
What would all the sword users say if the extra distance lunge was removed? its the same thing as quick swap just for sword
there is no decision making associated with an action like quick swapping. it doesn't widen the skill gap. it's a knowledge check, a quick swap user wins a fight against a non quick swap user the large majority of the time for multiple reasons. the most notable issue with quick swapping is that it makes combat take one less interaction to be won. when you eat that first shot, the intended gameplay loop is that you as the player on the back-foot have time to chose a movement option or counter with a shot of your own, giving you a chance to turn the tides of a fight. with quickswapping, this was not how the interaction played out, players would instead make a slight positional mistake and then die immediately, this was unhealthy for the game and that is why it was removed, it gave a disproportionate advantage for the bare minimum of a mechanics check. it was a bad feature.
@@SadToffee wrong. Gunplay was mostly about aim and the better aimer would always win. Quickswap just made it less clunky and skilled

Taking out double gunning removed the insanely fast ttk and spawn camping at the same time the only people mad about it are losers
Rare should have added the option to put the cut out in any sail, but they chose the very low effort option of just changing the DA sails, the second thing with the harpoon boarding can still be done. The loot juggling is silly and I'm happy Rare are making it so you can't do it, it breaks one of the core things in the game to have a disadvantage while running with loot.
The quick swap can still be done, and it's eally annoying it's on the list of "we fixed it but didn't actually fix it" that list is far far too long.
You forgot the removal of faster bucket and shovel. It still hurts.
