- This short informational video by Heritage Harley-Davidson will walk you through enabling and disabling your EITMS System. This will help keep your bike running cooler in extreme temps.

I was one of 'those customers' who had no clue as to what the EITMS was and how it worked or its purpose. I recently had the 10,000 mile service performed on my 2020 Street Glide and I immediately noticed a change with my engine's idle at a stop light. I never had this experience in the past so I immediately wanted to find out what's going on. I spoke with the Service Manager over the phone and he explained everything to me and then walked me through the process of disenabling the system and then how to turn it back on again. I'm a Happy Camper and 'Thanks' for the excellent video!

Had it turned on, on my 2020 Softail Standard with Short Shots and no baffles. Had a SE tune and was running way lean (spark plugs were grey-white, NOT GOOD!) and it would kick in all the time. And my GOD did it sound like a pile of shit thru straight pipes. Got a FP3 tuner and checked engine temp before I tuned it, and engine temp was almost 300 degrees! Flashed a canned FP3 tune, and after idling the same amount of time, engine temp was 260. Massive difference. Shut off the EITMS, glad I did.

Works with a 22 harley as well. Just hold the left hand home screen control on the handlebars, go to engine info. Select right one click. And do the same process as in the video. Nic3

I have a 1997 retired police bike, FLHTPI and was idling like crap with engine light on when hot. I replaced the "engine temperature sensor", under the gas tank and ran like new after that! Guess the new bikes are more improved.
In my opinion it’s so important to the health of the engine (avoiding too much heat) and for the biker’s comfort that it should be enabled constantly. Why would someone disable it? I don’t see any reason for it.
When that happened I thought my bike was jacked up . After realizing what had happened I then got concerned a bit . I've got the ultra . It has the dual cooling system. Sometimes when riding around for just a few minutes it kicks on .I'm wondering if my bike is running hot to soon . The temperatures are in the 80 when that happens. Any ideas? On why it turns on so soon.
It would have been nice to see it in operation.

Sometimes the system kicks on within a 10 min ride and the temperature is in the 70s . Then other times it may be hotter in the day and the system stays off. Should I be concerned. Thanks for any advice
I have a 2017 ultra classic I'm putting a oil cooling fan on my bike this year! Will this system be enabled will it help the motor stay cool?

I found that if I goose the throttle before pulling out, that it reactivates the rear cylinder so there's no bump.
Maybe as a dealer you should inform your customers about these systems at point of purchase

I bought a 2018 Road Glide Ultra. First HD ever and never going back. Question, is there a way to check engine temp? Like some bikes have bars that indicate cold/mid/hot, etc... I notice HD doesn't at least on my model. Would be nice to see that unless they don't add this option so we aren't scared how hot they may run? I had a BMW Inline 6 and it was HOT a lot even with a radiator.
That’s no new feature it’s been on the bikes for awhile now I know my 2016 Ultra Limited has it and I believe it was out way before that.
I just leave mine Enabled all the time.
But this was a good video showing how to use it. 👍👍

Is this on a 2014 trike? This is the first Harley that I have owned. Actually the first American bike that I have owed. I used to buy Japanese bikes. Honda and etc. My last bike before this was a 1972 Honda 750 and it got stolen.
When should u use this !! I think this cause the oil transfer issue I have even with the vent tube installed from Harley
If the bike is running with it enabled will it kill some power too?
As soon as the bike gets in gear or the rpm goes over idle speed it goes back to full power, this system only works when you're sitting still so you don't melt your ass to the seat

Fedrico Ekkelenkamp by your right handlebar find the switch with a i and a circle around it. Push it. It will come on the screen if it’s on or off
How about a bike the public can afford? How about some water on weekends for riders? How about fair pre owned prices? How about yellow toenails?

2017 when should I switch on or off the parade mode I am currently running the parade mode in 80. Degree
Hi Dre. Use your discretion. I personally would turn it on at very slow speeds on a day that is warm or hot and might not turn it off until the parade is over or you can maintain normal speeds that can properly cool the motorcycle.
I think the parade mode cause my oil transfer issue second this has happened with Harley I had the vent tube installed with Harley a year ago

It stalled a few times at a light. It never done that when I had it disabled. Any thoughts?
It's best to have a tech look at the bike. It could be a number of different things.
With the EITMS engaged and you are ready to accelerate away from the stopped position, just crack the throttle a second before moving forward. This will disengage the EITMS and the rear cylinder will now be operating normally instead of in "fan" mode. The system is still enabled but not activated at this point. Nice and easy on the clutch as you work the friction zone and you should be fine if this is what caused the stall.
Does this feature stay in the off mode once it’s placed there, Or does it default to the on mode every time you start the bike?

Roll throttle forward for 3 sends cruise light will flash green to turn on, same thing to disable cruise light will flash red

Hi im having idle proplem with my vrod screamin eagle cvo 2005, there are no error cotes on the dash wen i scroll them and wen i twist the trottle the bike runs fine and good perfams, its just the idle, the needle on the rpm is jumping about 200 rpm and wen i start up the engine wen its hot the idle is wours for few min, any idea? yes yes i know its hard to find out proplems throu the internet but im from Iceland and we dont have a dealer here to help me out.
I'm really sorry but there could be so many different factors related to an idle problem on that model. I hope you can find a good mechanic that can run some diagnostics for you.
This is my favorite motorcycle! If a hade a bike like this, I’d install an air starter, a fast idol switch and a Cummins L10 1011 C C turbo Diesel engine!😇💖🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸☕️☕️☕️🍩🍩🍩🇱🇻🇱🇻
