Thank you ❤, now I can go back to my old jeans that I don't know why I'm holding on it 😅 Just cover it with fabrics, why I did not think about it before 😂
I have the same allergy, and use the nail polish trick. There’s a product on the market for this, but it looks and smells just like clear nail polish, only more costly.
@ Same here. Costume jewelry is how I first learned about my allergy. We do have an easy solution, though. It could be worse. Oh, and I’m allergic to nail polish, so can’t use it on my nails. Only on the jewelry.
I have the same problem (nickel allergy), but only the metal button bothers me, not the rivet. I solved it by coating the back of the button (the part that touches my skin) with fingernail polish. I haven't experienced a problem with the polish coming off in the wash. I don't paint my nails, but I always keep a bottle of cheap clear nail polish on hand for that purpose.

@@amydebuitleir only the button huh 🤔 Interesting. I know my right hip is more sensitive than my left & the button does not bother me. Bodies are weird! lol 😜
@@amydebuitleir The buttons and rivers might be different materials. Your rivets could be something like aluminium, brass, or zinc. If only the button bothers you.
The rivets are the reason I don't wear jeans. They're completely unnecessary with things like kevlar thread being available now, and even some extra stitching at the seams of the pockets like you did is another alternative. In fact the manufacturer already uses heavy zigzag stitching on the belt loops and back pockets where putting rivets wouldn't be feasible. Even rubberized rivets would be preferable to the gross looking brass rivets. That way they wouldn't scratch up furniture and phone screens.
@@elzinawhite3199 It would probably stay for a bit but I feel like it would peel off after a few washes. I feel like the iron on stuff never holds unless you sew it too. If you recommend one you like let me know. I’ll try it out.
I used to take those off for my wife when she did alterations the exact same way. Never heard of a metal allergy though. Thanks Anastasia!
@@artillerybuff2000 welcome! Yeah it’s a nickel allergy. I can’t wear cheap jewelry either. It does horrible things to my skin.
Your explanations are so clear and the close ups shots are fantastic!
@@RJMCafe Thank you 😊
Thanks Anastasia.❤

Very helpful tip! Have you done a video on how to install rivets yet?
@@daxxydog5777 I do not have a rivet install video. I will add it to my list!
Good to know! Thanks for sharing.

@@dale3404 I put clear nail polish on some of my fun costume jewelry. My skin is so sensitive. So annoying.

The covering strategy could work on the back of the buttons too.
@ totally!

@@dylanj8676 I hope you give this a try & wear jeans one day!
@SewAnastasia I might give it a try with some colourful ones, but for blue and black jeans, I'm just gonna get rivetless ones.
Can you use a small iron on jeans patch to cover the rivet???
