Chase buying the Apple card is like buying toxic waste. Apple has zero cause to renegotiate terms with Chase. What does Chase think they could do that GS couldn't. And does Chase really want to get into the subprime market? Even if they did want to get into the subprime market, there are better ways. Absolute insanity, unless GS guarantees repayment for charge off for x years. Even then it would start burning Chase's hands after x years.
If apple had three tiers of their Apple credit card with different flat rates of Cashback based on the tier you get I bet it would go over well. Apple Card SE, Apple Card, and Apple Card Pro Max.
As a Hawaiian flyer, I grabbed the Alaska card earlier this year at an elevated offer with the BoA tier bonus, gambling for the other direction. Super pleased I can now move the bonus and earn over to Hawaiian to actually use on Hawaiian flights. Christmas? Likely! 👻
This probably will not go well for Chase. If Apple messes this up with Chase, that may be the end of them ever being able to partner with any major chartered bank.
I agree that Apple card is going to be a damn albatross around a banks neck. We already have plenty of subprime cards, And those of us with good credit and responsible credit history are going to pay for this garbage debt and our fees and interest and other things. Just pass on this Apple card Chase.
Not mad at chase taking over as long as they maintain my savings accounts interest rate and 0 requirements. Since I already have accounts with them it’ll be nice to consolidate some of my accounts tbh
JPM will not offer generous terms like GS to avoid multi-billion in losses. JPM will get this gig at a favorable discount and drop a bunch of C and D-rated cardholders. JPM will not make the same mistakes as GS.
Hertz is usually the most expensive choice. President circle is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a winner. Other times, the choices aren't even standard size that you paid for - they gotta put whatever they got in the president circle stalls.
I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, but I’m not a fan of Chase. At all. I’d rather have Capital One take over but I’m not sure if they’d take on that risk right now. I’m not sure who would other than maybe Chase. I just hope Apple doesn’t give in to whatever demands they have.
Lol people forget Chase is already dealing with Amazon with their credit card and they are doing fine. People buying gaming pcs and crap not paying it it’s the same thing over here.
👻👻 another great video, Sebby. I'm super stoked about the Hertz President's Circle extension because we always use Hertz when we travel and it makes the whole pickup/drop off experience so much better.
Usually I always go Hertz pr Enterprise, luckily I've never had bad experiences with either. I went cheap one time in Denver and booked with Fox rent a Car, never again.
👻 I did see a screenshot of the T&C of the Hawaiian-Alaska miles transfer that HA Miles that were transferred from Amex MR can NOT be transferred to Alaska. Something to keep in mind before transferring points to HA.
👻 Can we get a video on Chase Trifecta vs Capital One Duo + Citi Custom Cash? I'm fairly new and want to stay within the 5/24 before deciding anything. Also with Chase should I wait 3-4 months or the full 6? Thanks Sebby!
I need to start using my Apple Card more. Not because it’s the best deal but I do not want that account to close and if Chase takes over and sees the low spend on my Apple Card I could see myself being removed.
Good question...I rarely use mine either. Amex and Chase are my go to cards, so I wonder if you rarely carry a balance on your Apple card if Chase will just want to close those accounts?
I am in a similar situation. I have some app subscriptions charged to the Apple card on my wife's iPhone because I have since switched to a Samsung phone. However, it is my second-oldest credit history, and I would hate to lose that credit benefit. I just put my Apple card back into my wallet several days ago just use it a little more just to show the activity of usage.
i redeemed Alaska miles last year for a biz flight on JAL from ORD to HND. We are eager to get back but haven't found any deals as good as what we got on Alaska. with the merger we can rack up Alaska miles quicker and hopefully find ourselves back in Asia sooner.
I just got the Hawaiian card. 70,000 miles for 1 purchase if you put in 123456 as the promo code on the application page. That’s basically another Aviator SUB (assuming you’re approved).
if chase buys apple card and i own a apple card, do i have to reapply for a new one or does it stay the same account but just under a different issuer?
I don't know if it's just bad luck, but I've rented from Hertz a few times, from a couple different airports and never saw anything fancy. I only ever see Chevys, Dodges, and Nissans. Not bad cars, but far from a BMW or a Mercedes.
I know it's not going to happen, but I wish Capital One would keep the 10% cashback on Uber with the Savor One than keep Hertz Presidents Circle for the Venture X.
Funny that you should say that the Apple Card gives everyone a higher limit than others. My friend’s Apple card has the lowest limit than any other card that she has.
There are a lot of Apple iphone users who decided not to pay their credit cards for whatever reason. Almost makes you think to be careful if you friend wants to borrow money and has an iphone- that person might not pay you back.
👻 I wonder when chase takes over GS, if the valuation for UR points to Apple poroducts would increase. I know we occasionally see the 50% bonus but it still isn’t an amazing cpp redemption.
Apple Card benefits are bad, so consumer base is going to be subprime. Not just a low purchase price for the debt is needed, but a needed concession by Apple for swipe fees and benefits. If it’s not agreed in premise, deal will fall through. As Apple fights everyone for bottom line, feel this deal may not happen.
is it surprising or unsurprising apple user's are in so much debt. still bet apple held up by people who wanna look wealthy buut cant even pay their cards i believe it

Reminds me of when AOL bought Time Warner and tanked.
Chase would seek discount on apple pay fees.
If apple had three tiers of their Apple credit card with different flat rates of Cashback based on the tier you get I bet it would go over well. Apple Card SE, Apple Card, and Apple Card Pro Max.
Those names 🤣
Ha!
If GS lost $ on the Apple Card, makes no sense for JPM to take it unless it’s at a massive discount.
Tim Cook will realize that Jaime doesn't fuck around
Makes sense because the terms GS agreed to are ending and JPM is negotiating a new set of terms that will be more favorable.
As a Hawaiian flyer, I grabbed the Alaska card earlier this year at an elevated offer with the BoA tier bonus, gambling for the other direction. Super pleased I can now move the bonus and earn over to Hawaiian to actually use on Hawaiian flights. Christmas? Likely! 👻

It will go fine….Chase is going to make sure they don’t end up like the last owner,And Apple can’t be picky they need a buyer
I don't see it as a problem for Apple. Apple has enough money to be their own bank if they really wanted / have a need to.
@@beo456Banking is not the same as making an iphone.
They have enough money to start their own bank… lol

👻 Picking your own car out and skipping the line with President'as Circles just feels good
Not mad at chase taking over as long as they maintain my savings accounts interest rate and 0 requirements. Since I already have accounts with them it’ll be nice to consolidate some of my accounts tbh
This is my thought too, though I could see savings rates going down sharply as the fed cuts rates

Maybe chase does want to attract subprime, I mean they do have the freedom rise these days.

If so, I'm hoping Chase will be generous with CLI requests and continue using soft pulls
Instantly liked for the cow herd video clip upon Sebby saying "roundup." 👻
🐮🐮🐮
Chase would probably take it for a large discount then close a bunch of the accounts.

I think Chase has a better underwriting team vs GS.
Great content. Thanks Sebby.
Can't believe you are renting from Hertz, no way I would will so many people going to jail....
Not the best rental experience this time around. Submitted a complaint and we'll see what happens.
What happened? Í didn't know what you're referring to here. Problems with Hertz?
Was 2 years ago. Lawsuit@@ProfessorWambsgans
I rent from Hertz on business travel. They're at more airports and have a decent selection. President Circle is also great.
I feel sorry for the people who are missing out on your content
👻👻 another great video, Sebby. I'm super stoked about the Hertz President's Circle extension because we always use Hertz when we travel and it makes the whole pickup/drop off experience so much better.
Hertz is trash. So many bad experiences with them. Good news is you can status match to most other car rental companies. I personally use national.
Agree. We usually go with Alamo, but wanted to see what the Hertz experience was like 👎
Usually I always go Hertz pr Enterprise, luckily I've never had bad experiences with either. I went cheap one time in Denver and booked with Fox rent a Car, never again.
I will never use a Chase card ever again. I know I'm not alone here.
With all of these moves by Goldman to get out of consumer products, what will happen to Marcus? There seems to be no talk about that product
Will be super interested to see if JPM buys the program and what kind of discount they get - Jamie seems to be the king of buying things cheap! 👻

I'll add it to the to do list! Wait 3-4 months between or however long it takes to meet min spend.
👻
What’s your ranking for Kyoto luxury properties when choosing between, Roku/LXR Hilton, Park Hyatt, and Ritz Carlton?
1. PH
2. Ritz
3. Roku - more of an escape from the city. Not near any attractions.
Any word on C1 keeping the uber credit on the S1 after November
It's not happening, James. They have no incentive to do it especially with how popular the card got.
I need to start using my Apple Card more. Not because it’s the best deal but I do not want that account to close and if Chase takes over and sees the low spend on my Apple Card I could see myself being removed.

What I do is just bill my $2.50/mo Watch SE AppleCare+ to it
Apple could be their own bank
They don’t want to be, that’s why they partnered with GS 🤪

Any chance Amex runs another bonus promotion for Hawaiian Miles later this year?
Could you do a video on both Hawaiian cards?
In the merger with Alaska & Hawaiian will they be under one name or will they remain separate but still merged ?
Can i not pay if apple card is no longer available?
I just got the Hawaiian card. 70,000 miles for 1 purchase if you put in 123456 as the promo code on the application page. That’s basically another Aviator SUB (assuming you’re approved).

Would Alaska Air even be allowed to devalue? Part of the DOT approval is no mileage devalue for a certain amount of years. 👻

hasn't worked for anyone else, why tf does Chase believe it'll work for them? I'm confused here....
