Omg thank you! I was always trying to dodge the dash instead of just gunning him down and staggering him. Game changer, beat him first try after seeing this!
A million times thank you!! One for every time I died 😅 seeing the timing on that plasma beam just before he charges at you was the key. Beat the git straight away!
Thank you so much! I didn’t even realise you could stop the charge attack with enough damage. I passed this easily on normal mode, but I have had like 10 attempts on hard until I saw this video!
Glad you found it useful! I kind of figured it out like a little ways through the last phase partly due to not wanting to finger twist any more super missiles on timing hehe...
After 15+ hours of fight, thanks to this video, I figured that during last stage, when Ridley is preparing to ram, there is needed to shoot charged plasma beam when its head is high. Thanks to this, I was finally able to beat that bastard. Anyway, I think whole artifact story and Ridley fight would be quite nice as an optional thing, but not main. Or maybe, I wasn't convinced to enjoy Metroid games and metroidvania genre.
Yeah he's going for the throat on those attacks! And he moves so fast that it throws off the aim lock...the plasma beam dance seems to be the most reliable but I do miss every now and then :(
Meta-Ridley is not difficult on Hard Mode until he can't fly anymore which happens when has 1/8 health left. That's when you get Screwed...When he drops down to that it will seem like his health increased 10 fold. He barely goes down and has a jump ability that creates strong aftershocks.
Due to a error in translating, the official scan should talk about his weakness to ice. So using a charged ice shot will stagger him instantly instead of using multiple shots. Saved me minutes when fighting him.
Bullet Sponge is accurate. After a while it isn't challenging, engaging, or fun. It's just tedious and frustrating. I'd describe pretty much all of Prime Hard mode as that. Normal is balanced pretty much perfectly, Hard over-tuned it WAY too much. But maybe I just suck at these kinds of games. Dread took me a lot of tries too but it felt a lot more intuitive and there were only a few times where I was like "yeah that definitely wasn't my fault that was the game being cheeky"
Definitely the super missiles would have probably splashed more damage but the charge up timing just took a little too long for me to get right most of the time. Thankfully the charged plasma beam also stuns Ridley when he opens his mouth but it would have also helped if I switched back to control pad beam swaps to just help get super missiles out when his chest is exposed...
Same im on this boss now died twice really frustrating that last 10% health! Tried super missiles by time they charged he’s back down into attack mode again
Ugh this fight was not fun at all. Finally beat him, the plasma beam was the trick. Most of the time when he’s dodging, I can keep shooting at his mouth and just walk off to the right. He only got me maybe 4/20 times. Better to not even worry about charging cause the timing windows to hit his face are so short.

Glad you found it useful! I was pretty much dodging too the 1st playthrough trying to super missile...which requires more timing 😅
This comment/video helped me SO much. Highly appreciated!

Bro, that last phase is ALL bets are off. You can’t even dodge his dash attack half the time when you get to that point, it’s kinda frustrating ngl.

First Thardus, then Omega Pirate, now they do Meta Ridley extremely hard to near impossible.

🎉🎉Muchas gracias, me ayudó mucho en modo hard

I've now seen this in action and it is definitely the way!
Just realized how many missile expansions i missed 😭

>complains that it's hard
Why didn’t you stick with super missiles in the end?
