- To our surprise, we have a new favorite restaurant in Nairobi. Welcome to Slate Kitchen and Bar, located in the Westlands part of the city and let us tell you, IT'S AMAZING!!!
This restaurant just like Inti, Mercado, Bambino, Meso and Botanica is part of The Food Library which is, according to us, the best restaurant chain in Kenya.
Slate is a French-Afro-Asian inspired cuisine, meaning that they have a lot of variety from the grill to sushi and fantastic dessert, no matter your preferred taste, Slate has the perfect dish for you!
Since filming that video, we already went back with Tracey`s sister for her first meal out in Kenya! SHE LOVED IT just as much as we did!

Coming from one of the residents at Skynest , Slate is easily top tier and the decor is amazing, if you want great pizza try out Solo Grano

Wow! That’s quite expensive! Anyway I’m not a fun of food, like I wouldn’t go to those kind of restaurants for just eating and drinking, because I love home made food, but the ambiance in that restaurant was great! And I think, these hotels/restaurants should start giving you guys some discount! I’m sure someone somewhere was really impressed and would like to visit courtesy of Dave and Tracy! They shouldn’t charge you that much!😂
To be transparent, they didn`t charge us haha. We just include prices anyway for information purposes.

some international media outlets may have a tendency to focus more on the negative aspects of Kenya, such as the slums, while downplaying or ignoring the positive aspects.
And we do our best to do the exact opposite :)
Evans Kiprop we need to eradicate these negative aspects we're capable it's just that we need the right attitude and will to do it instead of complaining all the time my opinion.

Very overpriced in Kenyan so called high end restaurants. Even in the most highend places in the United States, you don’t get an F’ng burger meal for $20.00. Hype drives price and value in Kenya though. I guess new normal.
What? Food in the US is just as expensive. This kind of high end restaurant in most country is that price.
Horrible food from Slate giving people food poisoning is Unacceptable!
