    Back when I was five years old ,December 1960,I was sitting on the lap of Santa Claus at a Lord and Taylor,when asked what I wanted for Christmas I told him I wanted a Luger...He looked at my mom and she just shrugged as if to say "what do you want from me...The kid likes Lugers."Never changed.

      ..same with me..
      I was about 3- years Old then..the Second WW had just ended so there were Many LUGERS around.
      I First Saw a LUGER in a GUNSTORE and I literally made a scene when My Dad Said buying it was not as easy as that (we were residing outside the USA)..
      A few spanking on the spot convinced me my Dad was right.
      I would be 33-years Old before I would get MY LUGER..a Double dated 1921-1918 piece with its Unit designation at the Front Strap..
      it was worth the wait 👍 😊

      Santas sat there thinking “oh nein! The kid knows my past!” 😂
      I had a similar thing when I was a young boy in the 90s. There was a Christmas double decker bus that used to come every year to our local Asda (you know Asda as Walmart most likely) and he asked what I would like for Christmas: I asked for a sawn off shotgun 😂 my dad had recently explained what one was after I’d seen a film with one in (no idea what the film was). But yeah Santa started to bluster a little bit and didn’t know what to do I don’t think 😂 bear in mind I’m English so guns are the devil here because they’ve been demonised by successive governments unfortunately 🤦‍♂️ I think we should have a version of the 2nd amendment enshrined in our human rights but I’m an infinitesimal minority here.

    I only have one Luger and have only had it for a couple of months.
    Everyone who has tried has been like wow this feels nice in hand.
    Georg designed something uniquely aestheticly pleasing and ergonomic on his first try.

      if you can stop @ just 1 Luger you are a rare breed ... everything about this iconic weapon pulls you in especially the way if feels in your hand but also its incredible overall design ... Georg Luger was a master gunsmith bar none.

    Its funny how mesmerizing Luger's are ... I own 4 Artillery Luger's including a mint #'s matching 1914 Erfurt, a mint 1900 DWM in 7.65 Parabellum caliber (aka .30 Luger), a rare Finnish SA M23 9mm Luger with a Tikkakoski barrel. We collectors love Tom & Legacy Collectables because we know we will always see Luger's that are desirable and fairly priced. Great video Tom as usual THANKS Brother.

      I'd hate to have a TOO NICE LUGER because then I either wouldn't shoot it at all or VERY LITTLE. Would hate to break a numbered part and spoil the VALUE of a GREAT PISTOL.😯😉😁👍😂😂

    Tom, how about a range of price on a double dated Erfurt ( 1918-1920 ) but was issued to police in Wiesbaden Germany according to the front strap markings. That strap shows wear but the rest of the luger ( all matching ) in very good condition.

    Do the tools in the holsters have a serial number? I’m just curious if you could completely that rig with the capture papers by just buying a tool without having to force match it or something to make it look correct.

    Very NICE PISTOLS, great video. I hear you talking about "HALO" by the numbers on the barrel not sure what you are talking about, could you explain?😉😁👍

    • @jcg5571
      @jcg5571 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Around mid 1937 and earlier Lugers were rust blued. Over time the serial number on the barrel starts to form a slight haze (halo) around the numbers. Such is not the case from mid 1937 onwards due to a salt / dip bluing process.

    I feel like lugers are so expensive cause a select few buy 20-30 of them. Me personally I don't understand why you need so many. Its the same with cars your second and third car wont bring as much enjoyment as the first. I would rather spend money buying different guns. I don't mind spending some money but for the price I could buy multiple different relics from the same time period.

    • @grayparatrooper
      @grayparatrooper ปีที่แล้ว

      I like having an example or 2 of many various firearms I own 2 lugers would like a ww2 dated at some point as well. But im not into the tiny little difference like this one is a k or its 98% condition not 99 stuff like that. Being that particular is weird and not for me.

    • @Prest0n97
      @Prest0n97 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grayparatrooper its redundant to own over 10. For you I can be okay with owning a couple but people who own 10, 20 , 30 price others out of the market. its just hoarding at that point. I am okay with hoarding many different firearms but hoarding a bunch of the same when a limited supply is available is greedy. I've been trying to find a ww2 era luger below 2k and its hard.
