      Imagine buying something without doing the most basic search to see what you get and need.
      You're the type to leave a bad review because you didn't read the description 🤣

      @@doms.6701 Umm, no. Excuse you. I happen to have also bought this set at the recommendation of a long time mini painter who takes commissions, and the set absolutely includes all the paints necessary to get started. Someone has watched a tutorial where extra colors are used and are rightly a little dismayed. Don't go acting like anyone just getting started wouldn't think the same thing. It's dishonest.

    It would have been nice to have some sort of instructions on how to put the mini together in the box - you know, just a half sheet of paper with a picture or two on it, but apparently I need to find a years old FB post that isn't even linked instead

      I'm new to the hobby, so I began with these D&D sets. I'd be qualified to help with your situation, due to owning all 4 box sets. Grung Green and Purple are available in "Nolzur's Marvelous Pigments Monsters Paint Set". Something to keep in mind for the D&D box sets is that some colors are available in specific boxes. Such as Xanathar Blue being exclusive to the "UnderDark Paint Set". As far as the product goes, it present their website as a source for the painting guide as a pdf. Except, It doesn't have one for the "UnderDark Paint Set", and that of "Undead Paint Set". But the two are available in a video format. From what I can tell, some of the paints from "Monsters Paint Set" is present in the tutorials. Also, Army painter has a pdf on their website presenting what paints are available in sets. Some are exclusive to the D&D paint sets such as Grung Green and Purple Worm. The pdf below may help you. Also, if you plan on purchasing "Monsters Paint Set", please do keep in mind that it costs more. Due to it containing 36 colors, which is nearly 4 times the regular amount of bottles from other sets in the series and that the miniature is much larger in comparison.
      Hopefully, this may answer your question.

    Every colour used in the tutorials has an army painter comparison or is in the undead paint set (wich included acererak) except for the grung green... only in the monster set...
    would have appreciated to have an alternate color...

    Hello, congratulations on your work and greetings from Spain, I am following your tutorials, as I have recently taken up this "old" hobby. I have been acquiring each of the painting sets to be able to practice with the figures and techniques that you teach. I would just like to comment that it would have been a good option if this set had included some of the tools (although I understand that it is a good incentive to encourage buying them separately) For the rest, I would like to thank you for the tutorials and for encouraging these times that "run" this beautiful hobby. A huge greeting¡¡¡

    Hey, when you apply the brown wash go the red ropes, my wash came out as thick as a regular paint and noticed I had to thin it down to a wash like consistency. Then when applying it, and drying, the robes had an extremely heavy grey withered effect which did look cool but nothing like how your model looked. Did you mean to apply abyssal wash perhaps over the red robes part? Thank you

    • @TheArmyPainter
      @TheArmyPainter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We certainly meant to apply the brown wash on the red robes. What you experienced is generally a sign that the wash wasn’t shaken enough and applied thick. The grey is the resin drying on the model without the pigments being properly blended.
