Honestly I didn't mention our current tierset in the guide but the TLDR on it is that you don't actively play around it in M+ at all nor should it influence your decision making for any builds since many of our talents don't interact with it. Laren
This is awesome, thank you for the guide. Currently learning resto shaman myself! And if I may add: It would be great if you could maybe display details streamer or a GCD /Action Tracker weakaura, so newbies to the spec (like me), can see what buttons you actually press at different times. *-*
Hi, thanks! I actually do have one by default close to the M+ timer in keys, sometimes I tend do disable it off stream and forget to re enable it, but you can count on having one there by default. Thanks for the feedback :)
Excellent Laren! Thank you very much, been looking for something like this. Recently ive been struggeling on my shaman but ill go back a few steps and try to start over ^^
I’m fine with helping out with damage when healing needs are low, but I’m not wasting talent points on it. If a group I’m in ever said something about me having “low damage” as a healer, I’m perfectly fine with letting them find someone else.
To some regard yes. Although I have mixed feelings about that 'passive build' that's been running around. Healing Stream is fine in keys, tho Flashflood is a bit of waste to talent into, as well as Torrent being a bit overkill imo. But honestly any build can work for +20 keys
Nice guide Laren, im currently maining resto druid and the awkward interrupt and pretty demanding dps rotation is a bit of a bummer and also that you can sometimes just fall behind if you dont ramp properly. Im looking to try out resto and level my shaman and casually play it in preparation for TWW 🤘
Hi, thanks! No, even though I gear all healers and play them on the side or for more competitive things like MDI or TGP, I main and push live keys with Shaman.
hey, I’m a new player in shaman, I can’t figure out trinkets, now I have coagulated genesaur blood 476 ilvl and Sea star 483 ilvl, I like how these guys work in pairs, today echoing tyrstone 489 ilvl fell out in the chest, now I don’t know, Is it worth changing something from your trinkets(
I'd recommend you simming using questionablyepic.com/live/ but I wouldn't use Tyrstone in M+. I don't like it personally, on top of it being an on-use makes it a bit clunky. Genesaur Blood and Sea Star is a good combo of trinkets to use
Cloudburst will still the best option for high end keys, although if you prefer healing stream the gap between the two won’t be as high as before. I still recommend cloudburst, though, since it scales with the healing you do + you have control over it versus healing stream which is just flat healing
Hey! Long time rsham here and this was such a good video! Visuals are so good and u explain very well! GG its a follow from me 😄👌 also i LOOOVE CBT and primordial wave build, but i wanna try healing stream just to see the difference as i hear its more competitive now, doubt i will swap though😅
Very nice guide! Thanks for your great content =D I'm wondering though, what do you think about stat caps? I'm currently at crit cap which results in everything over cap having a 10% reduction. I've got a low crit necklace and ring now to compensate for that and it just boosts my versa. However, I feel like 45-50% crit is a very nice amount of crit to have which would be step 2 of the reduction already. Would you advice to disregard this or should i just focus on versa as soon as i've hit the crit cap?
The second crit diminishing return is 45% as you mentioned but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Having said that, I'd start prioritizing other stats, mainly versatility once you get around that number. If you have any questions regarding any sort of piece of gear, I'd recommend checking out QELive for simming ;) questionablyepic.com/live/
Please tell me I’m wrong, I swapped to a non lava surge/master of the elements build for one key, then went back to lava surge/master of the elements build and noticed my lava surge damage was way down, despite casting the spell twice as much, it seems to be critting for way less with the lava surge/master it the elements build which makes no sense to me… have I got it wrong somewhere? Is this a known issue? Anyone else confirm?
What are your thoughts/ have you seen the riptide non chain heal build. Been pushing 15-20s without pressing chain heal and it’s honestly refreshing. Maybe not viable for top end content however
I've seen it yes, and although you might be less punished with the upcoming buffs leaning more into HST and Riptide oriented talents, I feel like ignoring Chain Heal this season feels more punishing than in previous seasons, and something I wouldn't do in keys this high. It's fine for that level of keys though. Also if that is the same build with improved earthliving weapon, please spec out of that talent node as it is probably the worst choice node in our tree
I noticed you didn’t mention stormkeeper+AG combo. Not sure if I missed a nerf with that combo but assuming it was not nerfed, do you just think it’s not worth mentioning? I’ve always felt like a single CL could top or nearly top a team especially on the second cast of CL.
Doesn't really provide the same effect anymore. It is something I still do if I know I won't need AG in an upcoming pull, but if I do then AG is best paired with healing spells by default
Hey man i've seen monk use ox statue in atal dazar for mobs on the left as key start to bait charge, do shamans have some totem that could be used for it?
I'm not entirely sure, tried it yesterday with a random totem of mine and they seemed to charge it but cannot confirm yet. Usually our totems don't work but this might be an expection
Avoid relying too much on chain heal and play efficiently with cloudburst and primordial wave. You can also talent into Mana Tide Totem + Spiritwalker's Tidal Totem you're struggling
I've been playing shaman for 4-5 years now, pushing high keys in that same timeline. This guide was also made possible with the help of Theun, who's the wowhead guide writer for the referred spec.
@lareneu random thought because like I said never heard of you. List some experiences in your titles etc so people know you are about that life. Example 3k rated rshams guide for m+ etc etc I think the average youtube IE me is lazy and won't check your profile like I just did to see you are indeed about that life lol. Thanks for the guide. I have played sham since bc but took a break before this expac I will use this to get caught up.

Truly an awful tier set

I'm currently stuck around 3250 rio, I hope this guide might give me the insights that will help me push beyond the 3.3k :D
Great guide 🎉 couple of good tips for me in here.
I think they nailed some decent balance, bc I’ve been pretty successful with a passive build with healing stream, torrent and flashflood in +20 keys
To some regard yes. Although I have mixed feelings about that 'passive build' that's been running around. Healing Stream is fine in keys, tho Flashflood is a bit of waste to talent into, as well as Torrent being a bit overkill imo. But honestly any build can work for +20 keys
@@lareneuoh yeah, I’m only taking flashflood because my haste is garbage for some reason. People keep dying before I can get a cast off.
