@@DevonLerferI caught a few Golden Groupers, very pretty fish. I did not know the concept of light rock fishing before, I must say it‘s really fun! (Although I am technically heavy with my overpowered 10-30g rod and 5g soft plastic leadhead lures).
What sort of action are you doing for the little rockfish? We have juvie brown rockfish that hang around the rocks and piers out here, but i havent figured out how to catch them effectively. Ive hooked one on an ajing lure on the drop, completely by accident and another drop shotting gulp worms. Both felt unintentional. Should i be hopping a jig on the bottom slowly?
@@dnullify100 yeah a slow hop is pretty much how I was fishing for them, or when they were just down the ledge in front of me, using the same tactics I'd use for our scorps here, basically lifting the lure and letting it drop a couple times followed by a pause. They're pretty instinctive though, I found it was more about fishing the darker spots, or fishing early morning.
@@DevonLerfer thanks for the pointers! I'm going to give LRF more of a shot out here when the weather clears. I've figured out how to catch the black surf perch on gulp worms pretty consistently, next is rockfish!
Wow brilliant fishing mate. Love the Rainbow Wrasse and that Aberjack what a fight. Keep them coming.
Cheers Alan, it was nice to find the odd rainbow wrasse amongst the ornates! Those amberjack scrap so hard on LRF gear 😅 🎣
Well done again! I'd also like to congratulate you on fish identification. Top notch.
@@mbnz0174 thank you! Needed a bit of help with one or two on this holiday but I'm getting the hang of it 😁🎣
Just back from a stupidly cold and wet day at Weymouth. This has helped with the warm up process. Looks amazing. Keep them coming please.
@@LRFandHRF haha glad I could help a bit 😅 hope you at least found a few fish at Weymouth to make the trip worthwhile!
@DevonLerfer may have had two Baillons of stone pier. Haha. 11 species session but damn it was cold wet and windy
Great video as always Rich 🎣👍

@@Bjoern_Spearzen nice, as long as you're catching fish and enjoying it, that's the main thing 🙂🎣

really enjoyed the video./ Last fish was sand smelt
@@esucll thank you! The last fish looks a lot like a sand smelt but it is a wide banded hardyhead silverside 🙂
