The South is a special place. It's my home. It's a place I love. It's an area of wonderful people. I've been up north. Ive seen Chicago, Boston and New York. Ive been to the west coast. San Diego, LA and San Francisco. You can have them all. There are no better people in this country than a bunch of southern good old boys. Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and the hills of Tennessee. Home of the finest people god has seen fit to put on this earth.
Just saw Confederate Railroad on Saturday Feb 9th 2019 in a small backwoods bar in Cascilla Mississippi. Ole Danny Shirley still has it after all these years still as good of a great singer and entertainer as he was back in the early 90's. Down to Earth group of guys and great musicians
i met these guys before they made it when they played every weekend at a TINY BAR in Augusta, Ga. that i barbacked at called SAFARI LOUNGE.. THOSE WERE THE DAAAAYS💯💯
The Civil War ended in 1865. You're not the son of a fucking confederate veteran, lol. These freaking cosplaying posers. ffs. Regardless of stupid ass wannabees, this song and band still rock today.
I think us American, non-snowflake folks should watch Confederate Railroad till they go viral. Banned my ass I will play their music on repeat cause their music is awesome and people need to chill the hell out!! Rock on Confederate Railroad!!!
Danny Shirley is quite a grand showman, the way he puts his expressions with his eyes while singing is mesmerizing, the whole band is so much fun to watch as they all really seem to enjoy what they are doing .I would really enjoy watching them live and that's a real complement
"In Cullman, Alabama, I have access to 6 different country stations. Three of them play oldies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I love it! I blast the music as loud as I can in my 1984 GMC C1500."
It was my childhood. There are a ton of country songs on my iTunes playlist that are from 1990-1993 with the rest being from the 80s and some late 90s. It was all my mom used to have on the radio when I was a little kid, in our old Plymouth Grand Voyager minivan haha.
You wouldn’t get off the ground in the music industry nowadays, no matter how much talent you had with a name like Confederate Railroad. Pretty sad society we live in these days.
True country. Steel guitar, awesome story, heritage. I used to hit the 2 step track to this song and others by them at the country clubs in the 90's and dance for hours. I danced with women who were white, black, Oriental, and Hispanic and PC stood for Pure Country. And "Daddy Never was the Cadillac Kind" is one of my funeral songs.
I'm still listening in 2023 almost 2024 .....and I've been listening for almost 30 years .... probably my father most favorite song I remember growing up listening to this
This is a cool song! I grew up listening to this song since I was 11 or 12, and I've liked it since day 1! The singer's face looks so happy and that's what caught my attention. That and the beat and music part of the song!
My daddy brought me up jamming out to y'alls music!! Ive loved this band since they released a vjs of their videos in 1993 or 1994 and i probably watched it 1000 times with my dad. We would two step and we'd watch the videos or the making of the videos like every weekend we were together!! I Love the Shirley Family!!
Maaaaaaaan... I remember this! Music as a whole, for the most part, took a hell of a nosedive. Its making us all into hipsters, having to listen to old music to hear good music. lol.
Country music especially. Rock and Roll made a come-back after almost being killed off in the 1990s and early 2000s. There is good stuff out there now. Country music hasn't been good in years. It would be cool if it could come back and kick ass again.
Confederate railroad came to Norton Virginia in the early 90s,not sure which year but sure it was the 90s they threw a concert at Norton High School.anyway their a awesome band they sound just as good live as they do on their albums.and let me tell ya Norton was packed with folks.
How did I forget about this great band? Back in the 90s, I had a couple of their albums and listened to them regularly. Then, somehow, they faded out of my musical rotation. I am going to have to go dust off my CD collection.
I purchased their cassette tape when it came out and slap wore it out. Talk about talent, and personality. Miss them playing as a group...miss County, Waylon, John, Merle. Country is dead, today, also.
@DKNOTX whats crazy is me scrolling this these comments listening to some confederate railroad, see your thumbnail knowing its a honda, clicking it and im already subscribed to you because of your video of the boosted teg vs the all motor rsx!! haha small world, man.
There is good country out their. But it isn't played on am/fm radio. Outlaw Country on XSM. Shooter Jennings, Whitney Rose, Mavericks, Nikky Lane Elizabeth Cook all have that sound you are looking for.
Another ban to make me a fan. Long live the South...aw, heck...the North, East, and West, too. We all love country rock! Keep rock'n boys! You have a new fan.
I LOVE these guys and Ive seen them quite a few times. They are not only Talented but a great bunch of guys who my sister and I got to know and hang out with back stage every time we saw them. To this day we are still friends with them :)
The problem is the word "Confederate" if people would read a history book they may learn something. I got two Confederate flags flying at my house and there ain't nobody gonna make me take them down!
Jeff, I still listen to Confederate Railroad... I cant get enough... they had every right to their name... the word Confederate is been part of history for a long time...
These guys Rock love these guys I met them at a County Fair near me got pics taken from them. They are great awesome cool guys especially the Lead singer love the sound of his voice.
I bought a cassette tape of Confederate Railroad years ago. I have always listened to them. This is good music. So sad the PC Police have banned them from the Du Quoin state fair. At least Black Diamond Harley Davidson in Marion, Illinois still recognizes good music. Thank you to Black Diamond for letting Confederate Railroad play there.
Confederate Railroad will play a free live concert in Central City Ky, this Saturday, June 7, 2014, in the home county of the Everly Brothers, Merle Travis, James Best and the birthplace of "thumbpicking". They are still touring, in fact they are headed to do shows in Paris in November. STILL ALIVE AND WELL, AND RAISIN' HELL. Love me some Conf RR

Good band. Music doesn't sound like this anymore sadly. They put so much heart into the music.
There's politically correct bullshit in music these days

I'd do anything to see them in concert.....love their songs so much...
My 1st ever concert, CR, Nitty gritty dirt band & Sawyer Brown all in their 90's prime 🔥
I wish I could go back to this kind of country music, because the kind now and mine ain’t exactly the same!!!
Danny Shirley is quite a grand showman, the way he puts his expressions with his eyes while singing is mesmerizing, the whole band is so much fun to watch as they all really seem to enjoy what they are doing .I would really enjoy watching them live and that's a real complement
Seeing the smile on his face while he sings this song brings a smile to my face!
he mustve been on something good. He looks like a hoot owl at times
I think CONFEDERATE RAILROAD WAS A GREAT NAME … the name is part of their southern heritage…
Confederate Railroad is my favorite band.
This is the kind of the music I grow up to I miss it. It hard to find it anymore.
"In Cullman, Alabama, I have access to 6 different country stations. Three of them play oldies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I love it! I blast the music as loud as I can in my 1984 GMC C1500."
That Chorus and that bridge. Takes me to another place. Pure Genius. It's hook has had me since age 5
I hope you hadn't figured out what the "Queen" did to make a living that young!😂
Just seen these guys at Higbee, Missouri last night and absolutely had a great time. Hope they are around for many more years to come.
They won't be, if Cancel Culture has its way.
I miss this good old country from the late '80s/early '90s. They sure don't make country music like they used to.
they don't make anything like they used to.
It was my childhood. There are a ton of country songs on my iTunes playlist that are from 1990-1993 with the rest being from the 80s and some late 90s. It was all my mom used to have on the radio when I was a little kid, in our old Plymouth Grand Voyager minivan haha.

They're coming to Virginia soon. Can't wait to see them!
They're welcome in Indiana too!
I hadn't heard this song since I was like 8 yrs old...I've probably listened to it a couple hundred times in the past two months lol
