I remember watching this game back when I was 8. that Vick touchdown on 4th and goal was heartbreaking. Still can’t believe how his knee didn’t touch the ground. Even as a panthers fan, Vick in his prime was such an exciting player to watch
And he was a POS by doing what he did to those dogs. Im
@@greatestnitemare6626 why are you here
@@darkangels119 Because I like football
I watched this game as a senior in HS.
I was there in person and will never forget this game. Go Falcons!
I was at this game. Pure excitement. One of my favorite life experiences.
Love to hear it!
@@NFLVault keep posting!
I forgot how incredible of an athlete Julius Peppers was.
He was a hell of a Basketball player at UNC as well.
Dude was balling out 10 years later in Green Bay
Packers fan here, HOF player in my opinion
@@luttackkin everyone’s opinions. It’s a crime if he’s not first ballot.
I remember staying up late watching this game knowing Damn well I had to be up for school in the AM but I could careless because I wanted to witness My Guy Mike Vick...
Anyway to anybody that’s watching this remember y’all, Keep Going & Be Safe 🤟🏾💯
P.S 19:31 Jake Delhomme pulled of a Tom Brady🤣🤣🤣
hi nfl throwback, perfect timing! Love the content
god bless you guys! Stay safe! God loves you! Pray to god he is waiting
What’s crazy is the lines before dots on the screen from loss fought-age
Love this era
This was before the Falcons's culture of choking the game late in 4th Qtrs
Nah bro the Falcons been choking since they became a franchise. Choking in the Super Bowl made it a meme and gave us the reputation but it started way before then. Hell, we almost choked this game. We were up 24-10 and the Panthers scored 21 unanswered, if it wasn't for Vick's legendary dive this woulda been another chokejob.
Damn, I forgot ALL about Muhsin Muhammad and how great he used to be! He's a borderline Hall of Famer. Played 13 seasons and accumulated 11,000+ yards and 60+ touchdowns. He's greatest Panther wide receiver of all time not named Steve Smith. Players from this era are a bit sentimental for me b/c I was young and just getting into football on a serious level so maybe I overvalue him. I'm not a Panthers fan (Go Bills,) but they were my NFC team during the years of the Buffalo drought when I needed a playoff team to root for. They had a lot of big time characters on that team and made a spectacular Superbowl run losing to the hated Patriots.
That Vick dive with the knees not even touching the ground is LEGENDARY
Julius Peppers was a freak
4th
facts watching these highlights i kept saying “peppers was different” lmao
He was so damn fast when he was younger
North Carolina legend
Michael Vick in his prime days as a Falcon

Playcalling is frustrating to watch. Falcons don't call any QB run plays and rarely even bootleg him out of the pocket.
@@danthomas9170 I don’t think qb run plays were made yet
Was weird how bad the NFC was that year. To run it down:
- Philadelphia won the NFC East. The next closest team (NY Giants) was 7 games back
- Two teams made the playoffs at 8-8 (St. Louis, Minnesota)
- Atlanta got the #2 seed despite a point differential of 3
- Seattle won the NFC West with a negative point differential and a 9-7 record
The 2004 season was all AFC Conference and the Patriots were the heart of it all! 🏆💍
With the NFC being so porous, the AFC therefore boasted some impressive records: the 15-1 Steelers and the 14-2 Patriots. Also, every division winner had at least 12 wins and every playoff finalist possessed at least 10 wins.
@@LukeR.5117 pretty much. the nfc conference was poor that season.
NFC was a lot better in 2005
@@chrisuncleahmad are you talking about 2005 as a year or a season?
Julius Peppers actually ran a route?! What the hell? Ha!
Carolina and Atlanta was as intense as a rivalry in the 2000's because both teams had overlooked talent that could play with the best of them. I miss these two squads
The whole nfc south man.
Julius Peppers and Mike Vick, the two most physically gifted players to EVER play their respective position
Those guys were amazing.
You forgot Prime Time and Reggie White too
Warrick Dunn was a entertaining running back to watch. It's sad tampa bay never had a supporting cast and playbook to really utilize his skills. Had to earn his yards the hard way every play
every rb was like dunn on Madden back in the day! His moves were great
Who else miss these commentators on ESPN? I for sure did.
The atmosphere 🤩🤩🤩
god bless you guys! Stay safe! God loves you! Pray to god he is waiting
Yea, I noticed that too. I watched back then on a 19" RCA CRT television, I'm still not sure how I saw anything. ha
Back when it was the Michael Vick exspierience
If I remember correctly the Panthers started 1-7, won 5 straight for a playoff push, and this is where that last stand essentially ended. Just way too many injuries for the defending NFC champs. Like someone else said, the NFC was so bad that year. The 8-8 Vikings and Rams simply couldn't be eliminated due to the mediocrity of the conference. It was basically the Eagles as the only team that looked like a true contender.
Meanwhile the AFC was outstanding, going 44-20 against the NFC.
@@LukeR.5117 interestingly in 2003/2005, the AFC was a less dominant 34-30 vs the NFC
Carolina would have made the playoffs but they lost to the saints week 17 was a must win
Michael Vick one of the most best quarterback scrambler am I opinion of all time thanks for the video @NFLthrowback

Michael vick would be in the hall of fame if he didn't go to prison. He is one of the reasons why lamar jackson and kyler murray are great.
Vick Should've won A MVP In His Career
lol for what? Throwing just as many Interceptions than TDs bro was mid. Borderline trash while on the Falcons
the Michael Vick experience i really enjoyed watching him play the Quarterback position
Mushin mohammad was such an underrated receiver back on those days and a tandem with Steve Smith what a duo deluomme was okay tho

Allen Rossum was one of their best kick returners in Falcons history since Deion Sanders 💯
Former packers great
Dude was so nice on ps2 back in the day
@@whines156 miss those and these days
I'm a Vikings fans and I remember this game well. Vikes wouldn't have even made the Playoff had the Panthers won this game.
Allen Rossum was fast as hell.
Packers great
Without Vick the Falcons likely wouldn’t have recorded more than 5 or 6 wins in a season from 01 to 08. It’s clear from all these old Vick games that the Falcons were actually really bad during that time and they never bothered to build a proper team until after Vick was gone.
@nestor gonzalez I’d personally only say Dunn and Hall were really elite talents out of those, but I agree with what you said as well.
We need some Andrew luck stuff
They just did
Warrick Dunn is one of the most underrated backs of all time. Dude was so damn shifty.
He was a beast
When Atlanta was good at making other teams blow a lead
back when jake delhomme was our QB
I remember watching this game as a Freshman in College! The Panthers were always my 2nd team because of their Nebraska defensive players (Mike Minter, Mike Rucker), so I was incredulous over that Vick TD scramble at the time. Fun game to re-watch!
12:11 funniest commentary I’ve ever heard in my life 😂😭
More falcons games please!

Everyone talkin bout Vick but Jake played great here
daylight comes and you got a delohmme

Mark Fields had Vicks number the entire night!
ESPN Sunday night football was so good! Especially that theme they used in their final seasons!
Yep this game I believe was a Thursday game or possibly a Saturday
Mike Vick didn’t watch film the coach didn’t even have his headset on lmao
What a great game! The Panthers almost pulled off the unthinkable season. Breakout year for Muhammad with Steve Smith going out to injury week 1. Stephen Davis and Deshaun Foster going out to injury paving the way for a Nick Goings Cinderella story. The defense was stout and rose to the task but ultimately fell short. I believe they still had a chance for a playoff berth on the last game of the season but fell short to the Saints. Talk about an exciting year considering they started the season 1-7.
Nick goings was forced to be the bellcow
Didn't ATL CHOKE in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP to Philadelphia that year ? 😂😂😂😂😂
No they just got dominated. They chocked before the game even started.
I mean the eagles were clearly the better team that year so you can’t really say they choked they just lost to the better team.
They didn't choke they had no chance in philly
No. Failed attempt at comedy
Only a brick wall can stop you. It's name is the Eagles.
Yes!!!!! When the Panthers almost made the playoffs after their super bowl year and every injury possible happened and they still almost made it, that defensive line in 03 was top 5 this century for units in my opinion
WOW!!!! Insane game, it comes to a game-winning field goal to win it!!!!
Didn't ATL CHOKE in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP to Philadelphia that year ? 😂😂😂😂😂
Vick was so dynamic in his prime.
Remember that Michael Vick exspierience commercial
i remember staying up and watching this game as a child. vick and peppers put on a show that ill never forget. glad to relive this game.
Such good plays by both teams.
Vick days
Bro Vick scrambled too much honestly
So many great athletes in this game. Michael Vick, Warrick Dunn, Musin Mohammed, and of course Julius peppers. Peppers was a different type of beast
Alot of forgotten great players

Which way do I go? 😂
Carolina Panthers-🏈
NFC West (1995 - 2001)
NFC South (2002 - present)
vs.
Atlanta Falcons-🏈
NFC West (1970 - 2001)
NFC South (2002 - present)
War damn eagle 🦅!
It was playoff football back then......
I saw 2 falcons touchdowns that were clear as day not touchdowns. I guess replays on scoring drives didn't really matter in the early 2000's
If Michael Vick didn't play for the Falcons, I probably would've liked him to this day, or at least until he got arrested. Unfortunately he played for the Falcons and it was just something that I enjoyed watching him lose, especially that Eagles game in the NFC Championship, and I'm not a fan of the Eagles and hated T.O.
Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons had a good year in the 2004-2005 season!!! That was the year they made it to the NFC championship against Donovan McNabb and the Philadelphia Eagles!!!
Damn this is the year Steve Smith broke his leg after his breakout year, and Muhsin Muhammad was frickin POSSESSED!
&nfl throwback a suggestion week 9 throwback saints vs buccaneers 2002 Sunday night football
I forget how frustrating watching Jake Delhomme play used to be 🤣

North Carolina legend
First
Best 2000 to 2010 Qb and we thought RG3 and Jameis would be the next Michael Vick. But Lamar is 100% Michael Vick but 2x better
Idk bout tha doh u might be right
Lamar would of got hurt badly against these defenses in the early 2000s, Vick was tuff and different 🔥🔥
1 word panthers defense choking
Also where's the unsportsmanlike penalty? It didn't happen.....that's a ref inserting himself into the outcome of the game for no reason huge play big first down catch and all he did was flip the ball and signal first down. Dude should be ashamed of himself for trying to fix the game against the Falcons. Can't get too much more obvious

Your entire list is gold. All 5 of those game legendary. Seen all live including this game because I live in Georgia. An hour away from Atlanta.
But honestly, i been watching NFL since 80s. I seen 'sooooo" many games and there are so many games especially regular season games that people either forgot or haven't seen that are probably more insane.

Awesome 😎
I know they beat the Rams in the 2004 Divisional Round, but this game, in my opinion, was the apex of Vick's glory as a Falcon.
I remember Jake Delhomme threw a no look pass to Moose this game. It should have been complete but there was a pass interference that didnt get called. This was a great game.
Warrick Dunn is the most underrated Running Back of all the time
Falcons offensive line could run block but pass blocking was not it
That light hit on number 55 I was lowkey bullshit
