Great shooting Mrs. James , you've come along way . Love the sound of the arrows from the tree stand on the last video . If you build it They will Come, Well done Mr. James you Got this ... ENJOY ALL.
The construction is always my favourite part of your videos. And , hey, someone shoukd invent a giant funnel for pouring cement into small spaces. Or how about a wheel barrel with a pointed extension for the same thing? Just spitballin’.
I always like it when the misses joins you at the homestead, and a freezer full of high quality protein is pretty cool too. Remember to thank Cali for letting you be in her videos.
What kind of bow is that? And I would like to see some more in-depth knowledge of arrow making I love this channel awesome job getting that deer by the way.
Excellent as always. I thought i heard you say 6x6 for posts. I have found on my builds a 4x6 for a non load post works as good and saves 2". Doesn't sound like much but on the smaller logs I mill, it can make the difference between 1 post or 2. Keep up the good work
I love watching your mill work w/lumber mill !! I have logs milled from time to time but around here & as few & far between logs I need milled, it's hard to find a steady mill guy that stays in business. Strange but true. Anyway, I want 1" & 2" finished dried product to work w/. But, have to ask for 5/4 & 9/4 to get that after stickering & drying time. I understand by the time you mill your logs they've been drying for quite some time already. How do you choose the thickness of your 1" & 2" boards for instance ?? Will hey dry after milling before you use them ?? Will you use them and let them dry on the project over time, taking into consideration the shrinkage over time like you did w/the adjustable porch logs on those metal screw feet ?? Thank you for your generous consideration, Sincerely ........................... God Bless.
At it again,,,,i say u cant have enough building,,,u need one with a good 6x6 beam for lifting deer..its great to skin that way..and let hang..i love your get up and go man,,thats what it takes,,,those Northwoods are great saws..i no people that have them,,watch you dont get sick,,crazy weather here..80 one day,,50 the next..carry on man..
If you had to do over would you go with the self propelled mill. Lucky man to have a wife that will hunt with you. We love seeing Cali the more the better. We have had 12 labs over our 44 years and lost the last one 2 years ago. Miss them greatly but the older we get the more the losses hurt. Good luck and stay safe. From Idaho
Shawn, a thought for you, is there anyway you can hook up a 12v car alternator to your mill so when it is running you can charge up some 12v agm batteries for use around the home, may as well utilise the machine in as many ways as you can Tony from Rural Western Australia 🇦🇺 🦘
Have your plans for the cabin changed, are you still planning to build the bedroom? Will you build another sauna and laundry building like you had at your other cabin?

Remember when this was more of a building channel? I loved watching all the cabin projects and the craftsmanship that went into them. Still enjoy some of the content, but I have to admit, I don’t care for the hunting content as much. Really miss the focus on building and self-reliance projects!
SHAWN & OUR CALI & MISSES there !!! Glad you got the DEER ONE there that was Great !!! Am thinking maybe jerky for some of the deer meat Shawn !!! I take Jerky and cut it up into pieces with potatoes & carrots for stew meat or even soups with deer broth for it !!! If Misses likes wine that is a plus in the stew or soup also it gives it a different but great taste !!!
Congrats on the deer harvest👍🏻🏹🦌 I'm hoping to get one myself this year (late Nov - early Dec here in central Pennsylvania. I bet it's going to be really nice to get your sawmill under cover! All the best with this latest project .... take care🦮✌🏻🍁🌲

Do you fill all the tags for deer or do you let your wife and daughter hunt? You also filled your friend's moose tag. I used to hunt with a person like this.
The guy is going to build an entire city to finish. What enthusiasm, well done

I for one enjoy this content. Self reliance is so much more than building! ❤
I could have gotten an 8 point buck last night with the front end of my truck, but I'm glad I was going slower than normal.
BTDT - it’s a very expensive hunt.
SHAWN… I think the gas cap was off on your sawmill! Hopefully you noticed that before it rained in there! Great buck! Good table fare there. 👍🏻🇺🇸🇨🇦
That mill has really been a constant blessing for your place.
Yeah. A machine he used money to buy is a “blessing.”
@BerndtNorten somebody spit on your oatmeal this morning?

The money was a blessing and then used to buy the sawmill.

Hey Shawn, when are you going to build that main bedroom you were planning to build? That will be a great addition to the cabin for sure.
I like to see a Norwood sawmill work.
Put a counter weight on the 3 point hitch or load the rear tires with calcium and add wheel weights to the rims
