  • Most of our colleagues are pretty thrifty, but a few of them are big spenders! On this episode of Life at TSL, we followed the thriftiest and biggest spenders in TSL to find out how much they spend in a week!
Special thanks to AIA for making this video possible. To find out how to fight the inflation hike, check out this link: tsl.to/aiainfl...

Actually Amanda and Zhin’s spendings are very reasonable. A bit expensive to have car in Singapore but if it helps his job (must often go place to place) then he’s paying for convenience. For things like healthcare, unavoidable.
The other 2 don’t have to pay for big ticket items like house car kids or wedding etc yet.. so they can still spend frivolously and not feel the pinch. I was once like that. Everyday I will spend $15 on a meal 😅once they have to pay for the Adulting stuff, they will really feel the pinch 😅

I think Amanda is probably the most savvy in terms of budgeting/spending. Zhin's day to day spending is frugal, but he has bigger ticket items like rental and car. So it would be unwise/hard for him to spend like Sew. But is he really better off in his total budget? probably not. But of course, Sew might also be paying a lot for rental which we don't know.

Jeanette drinked bubble tea 3 days in a row. Is so concerning to me. Bubble tea is so high in sugar no matter how % you reduced unless if you choose no sugar at all. But 3 days in a row siaaoo add up with other food sugar content she ate daily, imagine in a week and total up to a month, this is potential diabetic patient type 2 in the future. Pls be careful and don't take your health for granted Jeanette. ❤️

Thanks for this video. Really love how all the talents in this video are being honest with their spending. I can totally relate to Amanda in this video -- being early and taking public transport. I was once like Sew who takes Grab everywhere. But ever since the price hike like mad, I have gone back to public transport or staying in.
This is really an honest showing of how your expenditure can go up with all the small unconscious purchases. Ever since I have started tracking my expenditure, I am more mindful of my expenses and have been able to think twice or thrice before making any purchase. The biggest shift was cutting down on my food delivery and it helped me saved a huge amount every month. So tracking really do help as it shows you where your expenditure and revenue come from... all the best everyone!

Honestly although expensive, there are many benefits to moving out, not just for starting a family. I had to move out as I don’t get along with my toxic mother for years and I was having depressive episodes. After moving out my mental health improved greatly without even noticing it. Even though I had to share house with a stranger, my housemate was a better person 2 live with than my own family 😅I had to learn to do everything myself and it was expensive but u can’t put prices on mental health. Not everyone is fortunate to have family members that create a harmonious family environment at home.

What would be far more interesting is to see what their parents spend each week. I would think that t is a whole lot less.

@@John_Smith_86 you’ll be surprised how many people live like this in sg. I have friends who are 28-30 years old but don’t even have enough money in the bank to pay for a downpayment on a bto flat and have to borrow from parents. They spent money on branded stuff, eating out at restaurants almost daily, new iPhones etc.
