  • The Chosen cast member, Kirk B.R. Woller, joins Kevin to discuss his role as Gaius, the Roman centurion who *SPOILER WARNING* has his servant-son healed by Jesus in Episode 4 of The Chosen Season 4.
After sharing a bit about his own personal story and approach to acting, Kirk discusses his 20+ year friendship and partnership with Dallas Jenkins, the unique atmosphere on the set of The Chosen, and what it's like to engage in creative collaboration on the fly. Kevin and Kirk also discuss the importance of a good villain, the dignity and moral character of Gaius, and the surprising twists in his story, especially in Season 3 and in Episodes 3 and 4 of Season 4. Plus: Will Gaius' story continue in Season 5 and beyond? And: Kirk shares about The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a future holiday classic, also directed by Dallas Jenkins.

Great interview. I love his character from the start. Love how his journey of faith gradually started by being around Matthew and then Simon Peter. When he took a knee and called Jesus "Lord" for the first time... and when he found Jesus at Zebedee's olive press and hugged Him holding His head it broke me! These actors are all doing the most amazing job in their roles and as a fan I can't thank you enough for giving us The Chosen. God bless.

What a beautiful interview, Kevin. Thank you. Kirk is such a loving and generous human. He had me in tears several times during this. But also, great to hear his full background as well. So much gratitude for Kirk's work in The Chosen. Everyone has been rooting for Giaus from the beginning.

Great interview! What an interesting person. I had no idea about any of this, and it's so cool that he's been working with Dallas Jenkins for so long. It answers some questions I had about if we'd ever see Gaius in The Chosen again.

I'm so glad he got his truly great role in this series which endears him to the church, to us! We would have never known of his heart for the Lord! I love how he helped Dallas! It's just so beautiful to see how he would do anything for God and his people. Such a complete man!

Interesting choice the writers made to make the servant of the centurion actually the son of a servant or what have you. Different from Scripture, not a problem, but just not sure how it made that storyline more relatable.

So, they're trying to merge 2 very similar stories - the more familiar story of the centurions servant getting healed from a distance because of his belief, and John's story of an official having his son healed from a distance because of his belief. The boy is both Gaius' son and servant and Gaius is both a centurion and an official, allowing the story in the show to account for both gospel narratives

@@thebibleartist very interesting, thank you. Gaius asks Jesus to save his son, first one knee, maybe like a soldier before his King, then on his two knees with humility. This is so beautiful.
