- While searching through footage of a 1970 teachers' strike, CBS station WCCO uncovered an incredible "gem": footage of the superstar Prince as a young boy in Minneapolis. WCCO's Jeff Wagner tells us about the incredible stroke of luck that led the station to find the rare footage.

What’s really cool about it, is that all his facial expressions and mannerisms remained intact. You can tell just by the way he shifts his lips and glances off to the right or left. It’s exactly what he did his whole life, during interviews.

What an amazing piece of history uncovered. As a native Minnesotan, born and raised in Minnepolis, I am forever connected to Prince and his entourage. It was nothing to see Prince and Sheila E out on the town or dropping by a club to do a quick set. That is just so cool to see little Skipper!

@@bilialeilan9038 There are alot of industry folks that did try to kind of separate him from black music or black roots because Prince was vocal about his mixed ethnicity and because he played guitar and had a different sound. Once he straightened his hair and got that nose job his look was kind of ambiguous. I think they just thought that he would appeal to more people that way.

He knew that God created him as a vessel to put his soul into his music, because one day it would leave him body. May he rest peacefully.

This is amazing. I found out I was pregnant the day he died. I remember being so happy- but so so sad. Driving down the road, EVERY station playing Prince, seeing people crying whilst driving. I haven’t seen that since 9/11.

When I saw him turn his face, I knew that was him.He had the expression everytime you saw him or seen his interviews.I was born in 1973,so that was like 3 years after this new found old interview of him.1970,, I am blowned away.The same year The Jackson 5 blew up,Jimi Hendrix,and Tammi Terrell died that same year.That same year was when the last time the New York Knicks won an NBA Championship,and Diana Ross released another version of Ain't No Mountain High Enough ,that is still a classic to this day.This interview showed how he was very intelligent and carasmatic @ such a young age.
