It depends on who develops it. This is a product of Sony. Which is a publicly traded company. So they have a commitment to investors to turn a profit and raise the value of their shares. In that case they don’t have the right to make any DEI game they want. I suppose if it was successful they’d have an argument. But like all DEI projects it’s not. Because of the massive cost to the company and lack of success. Inevitably heads will roll at Sony Studios. You have to imagine the investors will eventually step in to pressure the company to hire executives who don’t sign off on the creation of projects that lose $100 million dollars. @@paul.9828 Here is the thing though, Concord is a online multiplayer game, so if there are only 100 or less people playing it, you will have very long waiting lines in match making and you will play every time against the same players, plus Concord costed way, way more in production than Dustborn. So I truly believe that Concord is in a much worse spot than Dustborn.

I bought Soulash 1 and 2 in a bundle to support the dev! He just wanted to make his own game without fake pandering and the woke activists didn't liked it and attacked him. When you're flushing hundreds of millions into it, video game players aren't enough. But alienating even that core isn't really a great way to start. They're spending Hollywood levels of money but have no idea how to get a Hollywood-level audience to buy into the result. I am going to be honest about this. I don't care about romance unless its pivotal to the story. I wouldn't mind a gay main character if done right, but to see how people go above and beyond to call us everything under the sun pisses me off. If it took you 8 years to make a 2 dollar Overwatch/Apex clone then I'm not buying it. Looking at the characters even I think I could design them to be better than that. You have it right Endymion that devs are entitled to have whatever they want in their game, but these woke people can't comprehend it and rather just call others everything to make them give up.
I would never play this, it's essentially a knock off of Destiny, over watch and call of duty, and they didn't even do a good job of ripping off the other games.

It depends on who develops it. This is a product of Sony. Which is a publicly traded company. So they have a commitment to investors to turn a profit and raise the value of their shares. In that case they don’t have the right to make any DEI game they want. I suppose if it was successful they’d have an argument. But like all DEI projects it’s not. Because of the massive cost to the company and lack of success. Inevitably heads will roll at Sony Studios. You have to imagine the investors will eventually step in to pressure the company to hire executives who don’t sign off on the creation of projects that lose $100 million dollars. They will return to a financially successful model. Which we all know doesn’t involve DEI games or developers.

So I truly believe that Concord is in a much worse spot than Dustborn.

When you're flushing hundreds of millions into it, video game players aren't enough. But alienating even that core isn't really a great way to start. They're spending Hollywood levels of money but have no idea how to get a Hollywood-level audience to buy into the result. (Though to be fair, lately Hollywood hasn't been doing a great job getting Hollywood-level audiences either.)

I am going to be honest about this. I don't care about romance unless its pivotal to the story. I wouldn't mind a gay main character if done right, but to see how people go above and beyond to call us everything under the sun pisses me off. If it took you 8 years to make a 2 dollar Overwatch/Apex clone then I'm not buying it. Looking at the characters even I think I could design them to be better than that. The characters are so annoying looking.
They worked painstakingly and systematically to make them unattractive from every angle. They're not just ugly, they're _carefully_ ugly. They're deliberately intended to be unappealing to anyone with normal aesthetics who likes the kind of characters you'd find in a normal game. Subverting the paradigm!
