- Today I’m going to tell you all about how I find CB radios very cheap on eBay using several tricks and methods that I have learned over the years.

The radio has to first be feature packed (eg. AM/SSB/FM/CW). Among the cb radios just AM/SSB. I know of only one American CB Radio that has AM/FM/SSB and it’s called the President George. The FCC is now allowing the FM mode to be legal so new Uniden and President radios have FM!
Yep, it’s legal now but a lot of people still prefer AM. Maybe it’s all that white noise. 👍

I've also discovered that if you see an item that you're interested in, you can add that item to your watch list. Many times, the buyer will send you an email through eBay offering you a price drop, which is good for 48 hours. You can then counter offer at a less price. Most likely, they will accept. Sometimes shipping is a factor, and it's rare to find free shipping. 9 times out of 10, I've been lucky using this method and save a lot of money. Trash or treasure 🤑
Oh for sure especially if someone wants to get rid of it badly enough.
I have sent people offers before that they’ve turned down several times over. Or a couple months until finally they sent me an offer at the same price

@@JohnnyNJones You'll laugh because I have HAM radios because the price is almost the same as the used 20-year-old Galaxy base station here in Germany and in my opinion it was exaggerated at the time. 990 German marks are now €485, so a used 5-10-year-old device shouldn't be more than 200 -250€ cost that would be ok but not 700-800€!
top video 👍🏻 and yes the prices for home stations like Ranger or Galaxy are amazing, more expensive than new! in Germany at DM time the Alan 560 990DM are € 445 new today! but 600-700 $ or € sorry because they can keep shit! for $ 749 or € 800 I'll buy a Yaesu or a Kenwood or Icom

I fixed a CB and left it running all week. How many people did I hear? 8 total :-( Very disappointing, mind you my antenna is almost on the ground, but I did talk to someone the other side of a mountain, should not have been possible!
I was using all modes, mind you, there was no skip that I heard.
Changed big Caps' dead short! Managing to blow 10 amp fuses!!!
Now it can go back to its owner, with strict instructions, 2 amp fuses, no more, if it blows them, there is a serious fault!
Rig survived, I was quite surprised, luckily one was the first cap' which was soaking up the current, surprised it didn't go "Bang"!
Jeez man!
That cap should have exploded, Why do people completely misunderstand the point of fuses.
Good job on fixing it dude, i have trouble fixing things with my goofy hands and the fact I’m kinda dumb
If something keeps blowing your fuse there’s a problem, But nope people just straight wire it or put in a gigantic fuse so that the CB will blow up before the fuse goes out.
Hmmm as far as your mountain trip
Your ground wave will stick to the mountain a little bit Especially in a moist environment so you might Have just rolled over the mountain ( depending on how close it is)
Or you may have taken the long path from a refection or multiple paths that joined together and constructively interfered with each other to boost your signal
Or because your antenna is close to the ground you may have bounced at a very steep angle and could’ve skipped talk to him NVIS (near vertical incidence skywave)
Those skywaves are really acute, you can talk skip to very close contacts
Either way, it’s freaken awesome!!
And if it’s NVIS thats great because it’s perfect for your mountainous location

My recent video I am fixing a side band radio
I’ve got the microphone issue fixed but I like to know your thoughts on the garbled transmission issue.
I know the carrier will naturally change a little bit depending on what frequency are transmitting at but this one is wayyy off and the AF is garbled when at a certain voltage
Do you think it’s some sort of clipping distortion being mixed in the IF?
Maybe a bad cap on the base/gate of a transistor causing some noise from ground to leech through?
You’re the smartest guy I know when it comes to this so I’d appreciate your help

I'll have to look back at your video, but if it is old, look for a cap that has leaked or plastic has shrunk around it. It will be later tonight or tomorrow, or I get back to you. Monday 6th today. I am still not feeling too hot, well, in fact I am too hot, that's the problem.
Three things went wrong at the same time.
The last woman doctor I saw was called Allan? Yes, well, it looked like a woman to me and the wife can usually spot changers a mile away, maybe she is going the other way?
Other things might be the audio chip, not driving the output.
However, start by checking your voltages are present, i.e. 13.8 at on/off switch, 8 at main reg, 3v also at p.l.l.
Something else, but the phone, distracted me.
Dry joints is another thing, and hair cracks on the PCB.
If I remember the other thing, I will get back to you.
However, there are lots of possibilities!

I’ve heard from a lot of people that they are reliable. Some people are more fans of cobras.
So your basically snatching up all the good deals soon as they go on ebay. Why bother showing us if you left us the crumbs?
There’s a lot of deals on eBay more than I could possibly buy.
Just because I see a great deal doesn’t mean I immediately jump on it I am not exactly rich.
Plus if I see a wonderful deal on something that I’ve already bought and reviewed on the channel I am less likely to purchase it
