this is simply not true the Krieg will do it before the Commissar can even issue the order all the Commissar can do is trying his best to reign them back
Hey guys, this is my Death Korps Army and just to clarify, I was using the Imperium Index 2 not the Forge World list for this game. It was filmed the week before the new Astra Militarum book came out so we didn't know too many of the stratagems or regimental doctrines so the only 2 new things I was used was the Mordian Iron Guard doctrine and special order to fire at characters with Rapid Fire weapons. Hope this helped answer a few of the questions I saw in the comments below that people had in regards to orders and so on. Big thanks to Luke for hosting this epic game!!!

Even if he had been using Death Korps of Krieg rules, you're absolutely allowed to ally in Officio Prefectus, Militarum Tempestus, Militarum Auxillia, etc. without being in any violation of the rules.

Half way through. Great fluffy feel to both sides. I really like the massed boots on the ground of the Kreigians though. The willingness to die is making for a fascinating watch
Firstly, the scenario was awesome. I loved the crashed Dakkajet. Superb! Secondly, both armies were fantastic. Great to see Orks, and really cool to see an infantry Guard list. Brilliant stuff!

It would be nice to see some grots or planes used in the future maybe. Just to add a bit of variety seeing as we seen these units quite a bit. Awesome battle report though great job.
Your orks need a waaagh banner and some protection like a doc or a custom force field. Also one big blob of thirty slugga Boyz are just devastating. Fun report as always. Small critique: I think a lot of the moderation could have been shorter and less repetitive.
It's not a pure Krieg army. They can't take them using the same regiment keyword but they don't have the same restrictions as a normal AM regiment. They can all be part of a detachment using the Imperium keyword instead and not lose out on their regimental rules.
he was using the normal Militarum index not the forgeworld one so hes following the normal keywords not the specific Death Korps restrictions. It was battleforged just under the Imperial keyword and not Death Korps regiment.
Great game. Some epic moments. Love to see large infantry armies . Maybe next time use 5 man movement trays that will save you alot of time . Im planing to make some for my ork army Thanks for sharing

I found myself wishing the Ork codex was out while watching this game; looking forward to seeing what changes they get. The Gorkanaught did a lot of work in this game; would've stayed till the end if there'd been a mek with him.
The changes to commissars has hit me hard since the FAQ, I've swapped them out for Astropaths and other stuff. One way i'm finding pretty nice to counter it is playing as the 'Valhalla' Keyword which lets me take only 50% losses to morale rounding up :)
Effective to be sure. Of course, super fluff players will be like "Death Korps of Kreig using Valhalla regiment rules!?!". I do think the Commissars need a bit more tweaking rules wise.
what i dont really understand (ive got allot of dkok but am new to playing the tabletop) is the keyword system and what im actually allowed to take as DKOK, in the foregeworld codex it names the allowed astra militarum units you can take and those dont include bullgryns etc so do you have to take it as a astra militarum army and then loose all the death korps special rules and use imperial guard ones instead? edit saw this was half answered below but any futher explanation would be great
Death Korps of Krieg do have special rules, but do not lose them when mixing in with other astra militarum forces. They are not regimental doctrines, just special moral rules
Unfortunately it was the only doctrine we knew the rules for so we had to make do i'm afraid. I would definitely make a Mordian army if GW made plastic models for the them as i dont like metal models :P
I didn't take anything with the 'Death Korps' keyword nor did i use their ignoring casualties from morale, everything was ignoring morale via commissar executions and their 'Aura of Discipline' rule :)
When we get to see tyranids? And I would like to see the grudge match between orks and nids. Last time was a zero calories diet for Great devourer but with new menu on their side I would like to see how it goes now!
Do you not find mechanised Ork armies frustrating to play with in this edition? By turn 3 you have nothing left but hardly damaged empty transports. Orks without wavy armour, painboss or a KFF are just so fragile.
Thanks! They certainly are an awesome army to collect, it takes a long time to build and paint them all, especially when you have this many guys! Don't worry lol, with the new Leman Russ rules I am definitely going to touching up the paint job on mine and adding some nice new Forge World turrets to use in my games! Haha i'm sure alot of people would be! We we're all exhausted after this, an almost solid 8 hours on one game is a long but fun day.

I thought IG was going to have a hard time with lack of tanks. Once again I m surprised to learn how strong they are with the ndw codex. . .
This game was played with the Index rules, it was before the codex. He said the only codex stuff used was the Mordian trait and 1 Mordian stratagem.
I really like the guard in this edition, so versatile :)

They are definitely an effective choice if you were considering expanding your force. Ignore Los is a nice thing to have.

Wrong, that army is just normal AM but with krieg minis. Krieg can not take ogrins, venators, sabres and so on.

I think alot of my re-rolls weren't done off camera and the ones i used on las-cannons all just rolled the same or worse for damage output :(
