This is why I don't like producers. They put restraints on artist and also put their own flavour on a song instead of it being the bands. I actually like the lyrics of this Merry Ol England song but I don't like the choir chorus etc. Pete says here he envisioned it as a guitar rock song and that's what it should have remained. I would prefer to hear that rock version than this over polished final product. And on that note... a different producer Stephen Street stopped Pete from recording a song with Amy Winehouse on Grace Wastelands simply cause Stephen didn't want to deal with their "craziness"... So we could have had an Amy/Pete collaboration song and never will cause this power hungry producer wanted things his way. They need to let artist be and aid them in recording and mixing the song - NOT pissing on it and putting their Stank on it. So annoying
@@spa2damax I agree but he should simply have said - you can record with Amy but not with me and left it at that. Instead he lied to Pete and gave him some excuse that she would over power the song and is a bad choice. that's just wrong, manipulative, and power tripping. I got this info from interviews.
@@libertard6101 No that's the song he made for Amy after she passed. I'm talking about Grace Wastelands album as stated in my original comment. You can easily find the documentary of the making of that album on TH-cam where Pete says it.
you can tell peter and carl are in a tranquil space these days
Not being off your head on class A’s helps.
Pete has tea and lager. You should never mix your drinks, Withnail.
what an astute reference
Liar, you've got anti-freeze.
A fine comment, sir.
It’s so refreshing to see them talking about music. ❤
These are great pieces. Really interesting.

Yeah, it'd sound amazing like that I think. Wish he'd just let him keep it how he'd wanted it
Shame but Stephen Street is a legendary producer tbf
