- I have used muriatic acid to clean things for years. It is not as dangerous and doesn't just melt everything like some people think it does. As you can see in the video I am not even using gloves when I'm handling it and only if you have a cut will it really kind of burn or if you're using full strength. I have eight powerheads in my tank and my tanks filled up so much coral on allergy that it actually flakes off in sheets from the bottom of my tank. Previously it would take me hours to try to clean all of these pumps now I can get all of them finished in a half an hour.
Awesome, thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
I have a 12 gallon Nano tank that was left to be over run with algae. Im drying it out now after emptying it, I was told to use this method to clean everything out of it and start all over.
I do it all the time.
What's the name of that power head? Can it be used in a nano?
They are Jebao cross flow. I have tried expensive pumps and they seem to fail quicker than cheap pumps. I have 4 jebao pps for 2 years now with no problems.
Are you mixing that with water or just the acid?
I mix it with water.
@@ShopRamblings thanks buddy, it's really helpful
how is that not burning your bare hands? is it not that strong? i got so scared when u touched it! lol
Don't do like me, follow all safety precautions. If you don't, don't sue me, 🥺 For me, muriatic acid is not that bad. If you leave it on your skin for a long time at full strength it will irritate your skin. If I have it to strong my skin will start to tingle after a few minutes. If that happens I just rinse it off.
Wow thanks for the bad ass video now it's time to clean wave maker up
I have been using acid for years to clean power heads. If I make it strong and let it sit on my skin it can start to burn a little but if I just rinse it off I have not suffered any damage to my skin.
