Absolutely..... but then again, I think everything Harry Enfield does is genius. Him and Paul Whitehouse together have to be some of the finest comedy sketch actors ever. Up there with The Two Ronnies.

Its funny because lot of Brits know Harry for so many other skits but always forget the pharmacist, he was always up there as one of my favourites

what do you possibly mean by one of the most talented comedians, if you watch harry enfields television programme, then there is only one funny person to watch, and no one else even comes close, when it comes to sketch show`s.
Harry Enfield’s “I saw you coming” skits are also brilliant.
Harry Enfield is a brilliant comedian.
He is portraying a South African, loud, very loud. We have neighbours from SA and yep, this is a good example of how loud they can be. And very direct too.
But we arent all that way
His South African accent destroys me 😂 Great video. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has 'what does he mean by that' stuck in my head - got to be one of Tim Vine's best 😄

Harry does a great South African accent on this sketch. It is ball busting hilarious!
Now i have a really good south African friend, and the pharmacist in the skit is only a mild exaggeration over the truth. though after showing him the clip and watching him almost die laughing, his wife Gina glares daggers at me now. cos whenever he wants her attention he just shouts "GINA!!" like in the clip. this has been happening for months now, junior still giggles when his wife jumps, so hes not going to be bored of it any time soon, i think gina was sick of the joke by the second time.
while i do think the pharmacist is one of the best writtn ones, i will say the yorkshireman doing the bank advertisement is a great sketch, and that one is even closer to real life, being from yorkshire, when we saw this back on the TV in the 2000s we were all howling with laughter to the point of tears.

when tv was great in the UK, mostly no holds barred comedy that everyone laughed at...nowadays they cry about.

You must try Harry Enfield (harry and Paul) and the Polish cafe aka Polski Cafe. He plays it 'straight' as a quiet, polite middle-aged guy getting his daily coffee as he interacts with the ladies who run the cafe - very poignant and relatable. 😄

My cousin had pubic lice, commonly known as crabs, he went into our local chemist and came out with everything else but no crab cream, he was embarrassed so I said I would get it for him, he followed me in, I asked the good looking lady for some cream and then told her that it was not for me but for my cousin, I said he's infested with them, he never forgave me

I have never been to South Africa, but I've been going to Holland every year for 30 years for the North Sea Jazz Festival. And I also bought a car there. Amazing country and also the citizens. I really hope that I will get enough money one day, so I can travel to South Africa. I love sharks as well.🙂
I have a brilliant way to compare your laughs: Lucy wheezes and covers her mouth while Brad goes BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and tap Lucy on the shoulder while tilting backwards.

I grew up watching Harry Enfield and Chums, unfortunately todays society finds all this real comedy offensive which is a real shame. My all time favorite is his William Ulsterman sketch, Pine apple on a stick - sadley the lady in the sketch has just recently passed.

I think the fact that they chose a South Africaan accent for the chemist somehow makes it so much more funnier because South Africaans are not afraid to speak their minds whereas a British born Chemist would not be so outspoken. Very clever.

Couple wanted to adopt a child but wanted one that others might not be interested in so they went to see who was available? A Dr had a line of the kids for them to choose from, the first had no arms or legs, the second was just a couple of eye balls and sadly blind, the 3rd was just a head. The wife said look at his lovely face we will take him. Walking home the husband said what shall we call him? I know said the wife lets call him Eddie. A few year later it was Christmas day and Eddie the Head was in Bed, his Mum shouted Eddie come down and open your present, so Eddie the Head bobbled out of bed, bobbled down the stairs opened his present with his teeth and said FFS not another hat. Well a scarf or necklace would of been no use :)

Afrikaans is directly descended from Dutch - hence the Dutch inflection when Afrikaan speakers speak English.
