Thanks for the help. I am in the middle of doing mine right now! I’ve spent so much money on other things I didn’t want to spend the 200 on the lokar setup.
Thanks for posting such a detailed video. About to do a 5.3/4L80E in my 1980 C10 and was hoping to be able to re-use my factory stuff. Seems like I'll be able to as long as I take the C Bracket off my TH350 and put it on the 4L80E. Your video definitely clarified a lot for me since I haven't done much with column shift linkages.
GReat job on the linkage. I'm about to connect mine next weekend. I was watching Lonnie Puppetkickers video about moving that bracket and realized that the brackets those fellows use are 2wd brackets and most of them are not doing the engine setback to keep the drive train in the OE spot. Like you I was eyeballing my 700r4 linkage to the 4l60e and realized it was in the perfect spot. The only thing I am sweating right now is clearance for the down shaft with my Speed Engineering shorty headers. Fingers crossed. I spent all day today crawling under the back end, dropping the fuel tank, rear bumper, fuel tank protection, and the rear hitch.... I came out looking like a chocolate easter bunny. Been pulling the old tank and old combo steel and rubber lines and getting prepped to drop in my new tank and lines for the LS swap. Hoping to have all the back end of the truck done next weekend and get back on finishing up the engine compartment stuff so I can button up the wiring and start putting body parts back on. Thanks for the inspiration man!!
All your videos are very informative, thanks man, I've got a 85 K5 I'm swapping out this winter, I'm in tear down stage right now, thanks man keep em coming
I used the schoenfield headers also. I didn't get the shiny ones and I was glad, because I had to cut the o2 sensor bung out and move it to a different location on the collector, but I got the sensors in now. I'm pretty sure we probably used the same motor mounts because off another videos suggestion I moved my frame bracket forward and ended up moving it back to the factory location as well. The difference between our 4l60e's is when I had mine built I had the guy put in the short selector shaft and yours appears to be the long. Good video.
what transfer case are you using? I have a 89 SUB with a 4L65E and stock NP208, having issues getting them to getting with a spot for the speed sensor.
CK_32 the parts on the table came from a c10. It’s all factory style linkage. You’ll take the shift selector unit off the side of the 4l60e and bolt the “C” bracket to the side of the trans. Then hook it up and all should work well.
I cleaned up the frame just a little to clear for stock exhaust manifolds with EGR. I ended up going with the Schoenfeld 1302ls1-c headers, that ended up not needing the extra clearancing. Mine is 4x4 so I can't speak for a 2wd but I imagine they would be similar. I cover it all with install in a video. Check it out on my channel. Thanks
Yeah actually I had planned on pulling it off, drilling for a new bung for O2 sensor and then taking a dead blow hammer to the spot that is touching the linkage. Haven't had time lately lol
colt kline yes I am. I believe I changed out the gear indicator on the original cluster to include the overdrive. Now I’ve got the 90-91 cluster that has it already

thanks man great video ! your videos have been making my ls swap squarebody suburban a lot easer !!

U are one of a kind brother! You really take the time to show attention to detail. I’m doing a 86 c10.
Awesome video. Exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for the video brother appreciate you

Is your truck 4wd? If so what transmission did you use and if it was a newer model transmission how did you clock the transfer case to work
what transfer case are you using? I have a 89 SUB with a 4L65E and stock NP208, having issues getting them to getting with a spot for the speed sensor.
Are these parts from your donor car or your c10?
I’ve got a 06 5.3 with 4L60E and I’m trying to figure out how to hook it up to my 85 c10 linkage

What headers did you go with? did you have to modify the frame at all to fit them?
I cleaned up the frame just a little to clear for stock exhaust manifolds with EGR. I ended up going with the Schoenfeld 1302ls1-c headers, that ended up not needing the extra clearancing. Mine is 4x4 so I can't speak for a 2wd but I imagine they would be similar. I cover it all with install in a video. Check it out on my channel. Thanks
Did the “c bracket” bolt right up to the transmission or did you have to drill it out??
It bolted right up to the side of the 4L60. Works great but I'll have to clearance the header on that side by denting it in just a hair.
Why don't you just grind down the c bracket
I'll have to look and see if I can do that and make it work. Seems that would be as effective as denting the header. Thanks for the input 👍🏻
Congrats bro
Couldn't you take the headers off and have the tube bent down a little and just mock up the rest of the exhaust?
Yeah actually I had planned on pulling it off, drilling for a new bung for O2 sensor and then taking a dead blow hammer to the spot that is touching the linkage. Haven't had time lately lol
Are you using the factory 3sp auto column?
colt kline yes I am. I believe I changed out the gear indicator on the original cluster to include the overdrive. Now I’ve got the 90-91 cluster that has it already
L.O.L. P.WT.
What exact headers are those?
milwaukeebiker schoenfeld 1302ls1-c headers with V-band clamps welded on the collector side
