god this is sooo good. the way akio's gaslighting serves to frame anthy as a villain, like with that one scene during the last duel where he tells her "oh anthy i know you better than anyone but i love you anyway!" as if she is so hard to love and he is all she deserves... because anthy must be made complicit and she must be convinced she is the villain for akio to keep her under his thumb! "you're a villainous thing and i dont think anyone knows" because yes, until utena reaches her truly no one does know anthy, she is isolated, and that's how akio wants her... complicit, embittered, and alone.....

Very fun to me that the refrain of "and I don't think anyone knows" is used to show Utena slowly, _slowly_ Getting It.
It's kind of shocking how few AMVs explore the relationship between Akio and Anthy, instead of them individually or in relation to Utena, but this does it so well. This song could have been written for RGU, and your choice of shots and the pace of the cuts/editing fit it so perfectly. Brilliant as always!
Their relationship is so horrible and uncomfortable when you delve into it even slightly that I'm not surprised more people don't want to dedicate hours of their life to dissecting it (just me, whoops), but I agree that this song was too perfect for it. Thank you for the lovely comment!

god this is SOOOOOOOO good like oh my god. there's so much i could say about this that's already been said by other comments, about the themes and the editing and all that, and even more i can't even begin to articulate, so i'll just say one thing i love is the amount of reversed clips used in this (the water droplet, anthy around the crumbling castle in the opening), kind of slying pointing to how the perspective in this song is "reversed"-- where its anthy who is the villain and akio who is her hapless crony.
