Regarding the saw dust collection, consider an automatic power switch, an inline sensor notices that you powered up the saw and it trips a relay to power up the shopvac. And about the dust hood, how about using an inverted plastic tote above and behind the saw - which you also couple to the shopvac. It seems a bit of a kludge, but it should give you some ideas about what the problems are.
I built a station for my DeWalt compound mitre saw when I remodeled my shop a few years ago and I love it. Next I need to put in vacuum lines for my Delta central shop vac instead of dragging it around on the casters.
Well done Frank, that makes things a lot easier, I wish I had the kind of space you have for such things! Mostly in the UK we have to put up with a 12 x 8 foot shed in the back garden. Bob
I feel that Bosch makes the best miter saws, it has the smallest footprint of all miter saws plus, you can get it with it's own stand. I got one with it's own stand, won't go back to any other brand now. Great work on getting yours finally "set up" in your work bench. Cheers :)
Hmmm, @ 10:14 Why I wonder, why You have the big 5.0 12 volt battery on the Impact driver, and a smaller battery on the 12 Volt drill. I keep a 5.0 on my 12 Volt XTreme drill almost exclusively. Impacts as a rule do not require a large battery to perform well. Just my opinion, your option of course. Nice build and craftsmanship. You will find your work goes so much better now. Stay safe 👍
The best way to bend wood would be steam bent. just steam wood for a while and it'll bend. the only problem is you can't steam or soak plywood. it'll separate.

Great idea Frank.
I love my 12 inch Hitachi slide miter. But still have a soft spot for my old Hitachi 15 inch old school miter saw.

Good ideas and good execution! Liked the faster-paced editing too, Frank 😀

Great job! But I was surprised no dust mask when using the router.

fun video. thanks for sharing.
Now you need to build a full size wooden cub cadet for your next project
Nickel.
Do you have fire extinguishers? I don't see any.
Yes. Actually a large CO2 unit in the corner.
frank can you soak that wood in hot water first to make it easier to bend with out cracking it.
...With plywood, so glued ...
