I enjoy these old timers stories i already caught myself googling outfitters in Arizona so i can go lion hunting 🙌 next to my holiday list. Some of the realest down to earth folk these guys. A shame the world is fast changing. Keep it up mate
I never had the opportunity to meet Sewell, but the first lion I ever seen in a tree was with his eddy lee dog that Kieth had at that point. We caught that lion on the xxx ranch on the blue that Sewell once had.
It better to run ur dogs twice or 3 times a week for 4 to 6 hours than one 8 to 10 hours one time of week yes I always pick the runt of litter always ur right love a hound that is tight legged n light on his feet racy type
I bred n raised fox hounds for years but no place to hunt on our side pens became popular but I had to drive 3 hrs to run stay up all night plus all my old timers died out n I am 66 years old now but in good shape I have 5dogs now but they r american pit bull terriers but ole school dogs of some of my old breeders that have died
No sir but I guarantee they could out smell anything any where I think they will suit u if they r any left I can give u a honest man no in Arkansas his name is Richard Stearns he has some dogs off of his flake dogs n he's a dead honest man
Cat footed is referring to a dog who stands up over his toes, coon footed being a dog whose foot naturally is longer, sat back more on his “heel”, has a longer footprint. Think of how a good running bred hounds feet look, that’s prime example of what people are talking about when they say cat footed. There was another houndsman you did an interview with that talked about preferring “coon footed” dogs, that have long more splayed out feet, said he thinks they hold up better in the rocks because they displace the weight better over their pads.
One of the best and one of my favorites !!!
