Hi Jason, that brass thing is a door handle grabber so you don't have to touch with skin contact. Covid 19 prevention. You can use it to touch capacitive surfaces too like a coke fountain button. The front of the device needs to touch two places. So if you point it at the button you need to have two points of contact from the brass key onto the surface of the capacitive button. I like mine, had it for a couple years now. Germ-a-phob pacifier 👍. W9CRJ
That's a great idea, mystery boxes are fun as long as it's not from the Riddler, love the Die Hard shirt, it's not Christmas till Hans falls off the Nakatomi Tower
In most of my giveaways, everyone is eligible. But honestly, according to the TH-cam stats, the number of watchers outside of the USA on this channel is about 2-3% of my audience.
Now that would be awesome and I will most definitely be buying one I would love to win the ht I'm new to this only been in the game for about a year now so yes most definitely would be awesome to do a 25 dollar mystery box have an amazing blessed night
Candidly, wasn't impressed by the gigaparts box. As I buy all those items wholesale and most are super cheap in bulk from China... Not bashing you, but they made a good markup. (I'm all for capitalism, but perceive mystery boxes to be deep discount items.) That pen cost 10% of claimed value when you by 100+. I give them free to my CCW/Home Defense students. The most value was the batteries.. Use those a lot and you'll break even on value.
I don't think perceiving a Mystery Box as deep discount is a smart idea. It could contain some valuable items, sure...but it doesn't have to. That is why it is a Mystery Box. I don't mind a good markup either, as I am also a Capitalist - they have as much right to make money as anyone else, and no one is forcing you to buy from them.
@@HamRadio2 Agreed, nobody is forcing you to buy, but what is the incentive? In almost any hobby or interest, if you're in it long enough you have "one of everything" and half a dozen of most things. Whether it be radios, camping, tactical, auto repair, woodworking... you buy the critical stuff but look for/appreciate value in consumables, obtaining scarcity or exclusivity to a product, something unique to add value. There's no doubt there was some value, the bottom line is "Did it give you the value you perceived it would?" If yes, do it again. If no, try another. *One note of caution as I sell or give-away a variety of tactical pens to students or customers in a prepper supply company, if that has a very sharp glass-breaker on the top of it. Be careful you don't cut your forearm or wrist reaching across your chest. Stay safe!
“tactical” = Anything aggressive looking in the color Black. Metal, pointy, stabby stabby, gets taken away at airports. But I bet a good old yellow, wooden, No2, in the eye is just as dangerous.
Hi Jason, I think the idea of creating a mystery box is a nice idea. No matter what you get, we all still have some small piece of a kid inside of us and enjoy opening up a box that is a surprise inside. Especially when it may be ham radio related. Great idea. KO4UWU/KRVG833
Mystery box 📦 great ideas I have 1 better safe radio it's the gkuv9G so GMRS but I'm working on my tech level ham license so I would love a kguv9x From bsr. WRQZ243 thanks.

I think a Ham Radio 2.0 Mystery Box is a great idea. Helps you 'declutter' stuff others might some good use out of.
I take the Technician exam on the 7th Jan. Thank you for your encouragement.
Good luck!
The last thing was a door opener a button pusher and I think it does a few other things too. I like the idea of you doing the $ 25 mystery box

Mystery boxes with possible ham "treasure" sounds fun... good idea.

You have a large international following and we feel left out with giveaways and competitions. How about if we pay shipping?

Thanks Joe!

I also like the idea of a Ham radio 2.0 Mystery Box. I tend to get mystery boxes every year from somewhere. I really like your twist on it though!
The Gigaparts mystery box was ok. Could have been better, could have been worse. I've had plenty in the worse column.
I recorded the video for mine yesterday
No link to to coax company "in description below"
Yes there is. Look again
@@HamRadio2 ha, there wasn’t when no made the comment.

@@HamRadio2 Thanks Jason!👍
I've never done a mystery but this sounds interesting maybe something for the Kenwood TH-D74 wink wink
I woould definitely buy a Mystery Box. Anytime I can get a free HT of any kind is a win form me.
Right
I think Jason will make the Mystery Box contain a Big Geek Battery Box
There's an idea...
DX Commander ??
It's a Contactless Antimicrobial Door Opener Key ring. I thought everyone knew that. Lol it's 4.99
That's what I thought it was but I didn't remember the name. I've never been scared of doors so I'm not up on the latest gadgets
I vote for the mystery box
Now that would be awesome and I will most definitely be buying one I would love to win the ht I'm new to this only been in the game for about a year now so yes most definitely would be awesome to do a 25 dollar mystery box have an amazing blessed night

True
@@HamRadio2 if its light as air naaa nope lol😂🤣
Would my box have some powerpoles in it? If so I'm in! 😂I like the idea Jason.
Haha, you never know!
I so like the idea -- I am in -- :)
Great!
I would go for it, maybe even get some real ham use out of it. Not sure how a door grabber is a ham thing. Lol
Hide the barcodes. With a simple barcode it's possible to find so much info on you.
Like what? My shipping address that I already share at the bottom of each video description?
will this event of mistry boxs include latin america?
Probably
Thats it omg thats like wish items oboy😖
I'm hoping for 7 flat panel TV brackets just to make Jim feel better. 😉
LOL
Well, as long as you do not put mystery meet into it.
Indeed
mine was utter junk, completely unrelated to ham radio.
Well, Gigaparts is more than just a Ham Radio store.
I can't keep up with this dude and his beard or non-beard. One video he has a beard and the next video he doesn't.
Are you a superhero?
@Straight[rode yes, yes he is! 73
Different videos recorded at different times.
well that was a shit box lol

Where did this “tactical” bs come from. It’s like when everything in the 80’s was ‘turbo’. What makes a pen ‘tactical’? Or an aftershave ‘turbo’?
Literally it was written on the box that you saw in the video. But you're right, it is just a marketing term these days
