Principal Leonard sends off Volleyball team with best wishes and high hopes
Principal Leonard Subba and team coach Anand John of Lewis English School Mirik extended their best wishes to the combined team of students from Lewis English School Mirik, Green Lawn School Soureni, and Saptashree Gyanpeeth Kalimpong as they prepare to represent West Bengal in the National Volleyball Tournament.The tournament, scheduled for September 17th and 18th at St. Jude's School in Kotagiri, Tamil Nadu, will see the combined team face off against top teams from across the country.
Coach Anand John expressed confidence in the team's abilities, saying, "We are well-equipped and experienced. This time, we're going with full preparation and a positive attitude. We'll try our best to win."The team's selection process was unique this year, with the selection committee choosing only selected players from each school. Thirteen students from Lewis English School Mirik and five each from Green Lawn School Soureni and Saptashree Gyanpeeth Kalimpong made the cut.
Principal Leonard Subba praised the team's performance, saying, "Our students did exceptionally well in Kalimpong, and we're proud to see them represent West Bengal and the northeast region."
The team faces challenges while traveling, but Principal Subba encouraged all students, especially boys, to participate in various games and tournaments, saying, "It's a pride for us that our girl students are excelling in volleyball, and we wish them the best of luck in the tournament in Tamil Nadu."
