This Daisy and comic-book Daisy are very different. In the comics she became director of SHIELD at the age of 18, making her the youngest director in SHIELD history.
Compare this with Season 6 when Daisy is trying to strong-arm Simmons into going home putting a pause on their search for Firz. You know that if it was Coulson they were looking for, she wouldn't quit if there was even the smallest chance to find him.
She’s a fantastic team leader, shown when she is put in charge of the Secret warriors and the season 6 space team. But shield is her family, and she will do anything to protect them. In season 1, she proved herself by finding Coulson after Raina kidnapped him. In season 2, she defies orders to search for her dad and is emotionally conflicted with her ties to her biological family and inhuman heritage and the people that proven for years that they are her family. After Lincoln dies and she returns to shield, Coulson confesses that he would have made her the new director. This would’ve had the same result as season 5, as Lincoln have just died and in s5 she is dead set on keeping Coulson alive (even if that means the world is destroyed). Even her leading the space team in season 6, she is looking for Fitz, while Mack runs shield on earth. Daisy is a field agent like May. Skilled in action and under stress, but not the right fit for the director.
She wasn’t ready to lead the team. She was so subjective, and always wanted her own thing, not what was best for the team. While she was a great leader for the Secret Warriors, she couldn’t have really led S.H.I.E.L.D.
*_... Nobody's perfect!_* 😉😂

That was after some growth.

Terrible show.
But 'Daisy' and 'Fitz', yum.
Pity they made Daisy so unlikeable.
