Very nice channel, subscribed :) Bought this 1/18 ERTL KITT model in 2004 when it was released, and indeed it came with batteries installed from the factory. I've had to replace them couple of times by now, but most of the time I keep it without batteries to avoid leak damage. Indeed smart move from the previous owner to remove the batteries if it was not used and inspected for long time. My batteri cover doesn't sit flush either, it was like that even when it was new, but batteries still make good contact. I rather have had troubles getting the batteries out from their compartments as they are quite tight fit there, but magnet seems to work best.
Hey thanks for watching! Love hearing about collectors getting all this awesome stuff while in retail stores….. I only started collecting diecast about three years back so I’m always amazed when my friends tell me about these older cars that they got at Walmart or Zellers that are now worth hundreds of dollars. I love this car!
Hello! I have one battery stuck in kitt, and was wondering how on earth to get it out?? Would you happen to know how please? No room at side of bettery for a screwdriver or blade to pry it out. Thanks.
Hmmm I hate this battery design! I may try to get something like a punch, but not something that would hurt it, and lightly try, tapping it around the edges very lightly. I’ve also heard of people using magnets with this type of battery. I hope you get them out my friend!
