Yes you can! It is openly advertised in Nigerian airports. But you must renew it in Nigeria before returning
@atasteofcath Hey sis ok thank you so much. My fear is that I hope they will let me through Heathrow here to fly out. I have my resident permit that clearly states indefinite leave to remain. I hope they won't see me as a foreigner lol. Sorry for the many questions. The last time I travelled to Nigeria was 2018.
@@kikikiki3216 The airlines should know about this policy so it’s best to email/call them before you travel to confirm that they are happy for you to travel with an expired passport.

thank you for this, you mentioned that if you are from the same house hold you can use one c4 envelope, i am going with my daughter nextweek and i want it this way, so i wanted to ask am i to order 2 postal orders with 1 envelope, or is it 1 postal order
You will need to get 2 postal orders and 1 c4 envelope

Thanks for your clear explanation. I saw a video where a lady said she was sent out for bringing just a payment receipt and needed to get a payment slip? Just trying to confirm what a payment slip is . Thanks
You are so welcome! I’m not too sure what she meant it could have been an older requirement. But you need to print and bring the payment receipt, appointment slip and application form. As well as the postal order and pre paid special delivery envelope from the post office!

The postal order should have been addressed to Nigeria High Commission at the post office. I would go back to the post office to do so, just in case

Should still go for my appointment or go after the NIN name is updated? Will I be allowed to enter once my appointment has passed? Please help. Thanks
Glad it was helpful! I would try and rush the update of your NIN name as much as possible. You could attend your appointment and try to explain the situation, otherwise I’m not sure I can advise.

Yes, me too. I have that kind of problem when I'm filling Nigerian renewal passport. I've also tried to book appointment but its doesn't accept or fails it.

Thank you, i found the video very helpful. One question please: how long does it take to get your new passport, do rhey at any point give an idea? To put in context: my passport is expiring in May and i plan to apply early next month, February. However, i plan to change address (move to another location) in April or May and do not want to miss the passport when sent.

Glad you found it useful, please don’t forget to subscribe to my channel! I received my passport exactly 6 weeks after my appointment at the high commission. However, I would advise you to apply and check the available appointments, beacause if you apply in early Feb you probably won’t get an appointment date till March or April anyway!
I just did the application, and guess what? The earliest booking I got was June 10th. 😩😏

Thanks for sharing. One of the required documents is Original and photocopy of full birth certificate showing the names of both parents, and Photocopy of Nigerian passport of at least one of the parents. was that necessary? because I do not have it.
That was not necessary in my case. I believe that is only needed for those who are getting their first ever Nigerian Passport

Is it ok to come on a day different to my appointment date? Tried calling and emailing to change my appointment but not been able to reach anyone😢
Glad you found it useful. I believe you can! When I went to my appointment, there were some people in line that booked for a different day but couldn’t make it and I think they were able to enter ok!
Thanks for your video and detailed steps. My question is about the birth certificate page, it didn't allow the next step but used my old passport data page to move to the next step, hope this is okay. My next question is...can I change the appointment date which I tried but it shows the page is blocked?
Thanks! That’s right what you did, I believe birth certificate is only for those getting their first passport or lost their passport and no access to its details. You should be able to change the appointment date use this website shorturl.at/GLRW1

Hello! Glad you find the video useful. That’s correct it is year-month-date on the appointment slip. It is best to contact your NIN registration centre or you can check using an app but I’m not sure it works outside of Nigeria.

Hi, i have a question. On the passport renewal application form where it asks for permanent address, after filling in you state of origin and home town which address do you fill in? Is it your address in your state of origin or the address where you live in Nigeria?

I can’t help you with that unfortunately, it seems to be a common problem. I would say keep trying to book or contact them

Just wondered and pardon my ignorance, I thought one's BVN is private. Is it safe to give out to these NIN centres?
It’s a good question to ask! BVN is private. But BVN verification is a necessary part of the NIN enrolment. Here is a link to the NIMC website which states how to adhere to the rules regarding this nimc.gov.ng/important-notice-to-nin-applicants-in-the-diaspora/
What happens if you do not provide it at all at the NIN centre (i.e. say you do not have one or have forgotten or lost it)? Can you still obtain an NIN?
@@rabnesbit8287 If you don’t have one that’s fine. But I don’t know what happens if you have one and you’ve lost it or don’t provide it. Best to call the enrolment centre you intend to use and ask

Hi, if you are able to, go back to the embassy! When I had my appointment many people were there to find out where their passport is.
You could also use the special delivery bag tracking number on the post office track and trace website to see if it’s on its way.

You need to take your passport along with you to the appointment but they won’t collect it from you.

Hello, no other document needed. Just take along the printed documents I mentioned, have your NIN number, postal order, special delivery envelope and your old passport.

I have paid and I didn’t receive any email, the reference number and id number seems to be invalid because ut can’t be verified. I’m just confused. No payment slip. It’s still showing unpaid application while I have paid
Check you account and see if the money has been deducted, if it hasn’t then you may have to do the application again

I enrolled in December, tracked my application and it still says pending enrollment when I have already enrolled. Is this normal?
I’m not too sure about this. But you would have been given a date your passport would reach you by, if that time elapses without receiving your passport, I would go back to the commission, if you can!

If you have misplaced/lost your passport you will need to complete a number of steps. Such as filing a police report, completing a form for lost case etc. please refer to the Nigerian High commission website for full details.

You still need an NIN to get a Nigerian passport. I was born in the UK too! Sounds more complicated than it is, but follow the steps I mentioned in the video and it should all go smoothly
