your truck running weird sometimes. I have the same year truck, these trucks use the Air Density system of computer controls. you have 7 sensors that make the truck Idel (open loop) and transition and (run closed loop) when it heats up.1 proper temp thermostat, 2 oxygen sensor,3 air bypass valve, 4water temp sensor (2 wire) above thermostat housing, 5 throttle position sensor,6 air charge sensor (pass side middle intake runner),7 map sensor perhaps the most important. good content

Just bought one of these rigs, appreciate every ounce of information I can find. Bought every manual but the original shop book so far for it.

I had a rattle with my 87 Ranger that several attempts were made to fix.......turns out it was just the decorative hubcap rings that were loose.

I’ve discovered that the easiest fix for this thing is to turn the radio up.

    Hey!
I highly suggest that you fix those radius arm bushings as them being loose affects whole front end and also your steering geometry.
Plus it'll make more stuff wear out prematurely 😢

It’s definitely on the list, just now it appears the exhaust is to.

@@JunkTrucks Its easier to remove the bracket just 4 bolts holding it on then you will have to get a front alignment. Those cats could be broken causing rattle while engine running also clogging up the exhaust and poor engine performance especially while going up hills. Turn off engine while going down the road see if you hear any noises, if you don't hear any rattling it's your cats.
