this video has everythig. piracy, wii shop music, screen recording videos that demonstrate your cool looking headphones and mp3 player. niche websites, some with foreign text, and even a cool quote in japanese at the end of the description. i miss this type of videos and i am glad someone is still out there making em like they used to. big like!
This video introduced me to the joys of a simple cheap c240. The only issue is that a lot of the charge/data cables for these players are proprietary and can be super expensive to replace if you lose it or it breaks. Often it's cheaper just to buy a new player with the cable which means you might end up with a small collection down the line depending on how unlucky you are.
Oh man, I feel this so hard. Went to look for a cord the other day and was expecting the usual "dude has a lot of 20 cords on sale" thing, and got nothin. A lot of the Rockbox Era Sansa stuff seems to be a lot harder to come by than it used to. Glad you're having fun joining the club. Dedicated music players just have such a different feel to them compared to playing stuff on your phone.
Loving my iPod 5 at the moment. So much easier to even just be able to reach in my pocket to skip a song with a physical button, rather than having to pull out my phone which is already cumbersome and large, turn on the screen, unlock it with the code if I want to change the song, etc.
if you are comfortable with on-ear/over-ear headphones, there are some good bluetooth ones, with an option to use them as wired headphones, put sdcard inside(and use them as music player, meaning you dont need any external one), or use them as radio. also some of them are foldable too!
Excellent plunder ideas. I had a couple Sansa players back when WOOT seemed to have them every three weeks. I didn’t like that they had a custom cable like the iPod, otherwise they were great. They’ve all since popped open due to battery swelling and the rubber finish is goo now. Still, I might try again based on this video. Thanks!
Bro, I hadn't even thought of Woot in forever! They had the best deals back in the day. Also, yea, cables in the 00s were wild. Seemed like every mp3 player and flip phone had its own cable it wanted to use. Hope you have w/ your mp3 player if you wind up suing one again. :D
@@steve-rambo I’m an avid thrifter son I’ve been lucky enough to stumble on some great MP3 players. My daily driver is a 7th Gen iPod Nano that I scored for $10. It’s elegant and sounds great, though I detest that iTunes has to stick its ass into loading it up with music. It’s like Steve Jobs’ bony hand reaching out of the ground to give me the finger even now. I’d also like something bigger than 16gb and more flexible. I’m gonna look at some of these Sansas you featured. Thanks so much!
For mp3's if you want some japanese indie music, doujinstyle will have most of it. The best is to buy the music whenever one can, or when possible of course. Do consider others too!! Either way, at least for Sansa E280 series (no idea about other models) it might have problems with remembering time. Quite important if you want to scrobble your music. I have to set it correctly every time I turn my player on. The problem is that a capacitor (or is it a battery??) on the motherboard will stop doing its thing and will have to be reaplaced. I still have not found a replacement since it also has to fit inside the casing. That said, the battery of player itself is easily replaced. No need for any cables, just unscrew the back plate ant replace it like in old nokias. Although be careful with device's middle frame. This plastic inside is really very fragile. Dunno what's up with that since the plastic on the front and metal on the back are very sturdy.
Doujinstyle is GOAT. Just got some Pmarusama stuff from there not too long ago (which I should buy at some point). It's been a minute since I've messed with the E series, but that's good to know. I think those are known for issues but the scroll wheel is tempting
I'm using the Hiby R5 gen 2 DAP (300$) and a pair of Letschoer Galileo (100$). I know this may be way too much money for most folks out there, but your experience is well worth the money.
100% worth it! You can never spend too much money on quality music playback. Everyone has their own preference, old headphones with cassete tapes, vinyl, sweet ass modern DAPs, ect.
Damn, thanks for pointing that out, man. I'm actually on a c240 rn and haven't had an e series since the late 00s. I was considering grabbing one on ebay, so this may have just saved me a bad experience. TY!!!
heads up boomer dont know how to use these things snice booomer where born waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before walkmens, portable cd players then mp3 players, in that order. GG noobs im out.
