I bought mine after watching Andrew's trip to Monaco and it still gives me a thrill to wear it. There's just something about that thick slab crystal and square case which makes you go "awww yeahhhhhh now that's a good chunk of watch"... Also the cherry on top (or on the side) being the left-handed crown which is a mic-dropping "f*** you" to manual winding that just screams attitude. It's an icon because that personality is so unique to the watch!
Loyal follower since season 1 and happy to say I got that Oris Big Crown Pointer Date too.... Also if I get the Rado Captain Cook High Tech Ceramic I'm likely to blame you as well Andrew! It's not good how susceptible I am to influence, or perhaps it says something about how incredible this show is!
I treated myself to a TAG Monaco with the 02 movement. I absolutely loved it when I first laid eyes on it and I love it even more now I own one. It’s a keeper. I could’ve bought a Breitling or an omega or even a IWC if I wished. I’m a car guy and I think the Monaco embodies the spirit of motorsport perfectly. Other car guys will know I’m a car guy just from me wearing it without me having to say so. It has its own language. It’s a beautiful contemporary design and is different and in my humble opinion, a great starter watch to build a collection with even if that does include other brands. You work hard for your money, let it buy you happiness and do what makes you happy.
The breitling top time has a circular case, but the subdials actually have a similar round square shape to the monaco, also get cool racing vibes from both watches.

Just asking a question on here, as i know you guys and everyone following will have great combined knowledge.....i bought my Omega at the beginning of this year and still haven't received my warranty cards. The dealer said it's an Omega issue so i've chased them 3 times, supplying all of my purchase details, and they say they'll look into it....and then nothing. Is it a common problem does anyone know? Many thanks for your help/advice in advance....and Merry Christmas!
If Bell & Ross, then it can only be the BR03-92, which looks like a fighter jet gauge. They try to get into everything now, dressing it up, but that just dilutes the brand. And yes, the Monaco is the definitive answer to a square chronograph (Calibre 11).
Some watches deserve the respect for just being the ikon that they are. Like Monaco, Submariner, Pilot, Speedmaster and many more that has their own identity in the industri. They are ikons for their brand (some have many more in their collection). I would like to see what influence they have made on other brands, is there design elements that pushed others to do new design steps and new inventions... I really like your show, you pointing out what I was looking fore. But It was more subjectives than facts if you know what I mean? With all you knowldedge it would be interesting. looking forward to next episode.
They’re iconic but I have a love hate relationship with them. Had a calibre 11 gulf edition that i stopped wearing so I sold it then regretted it. So I ordered a purple dial and the real thing was much darker than the press shots and the rotor was so noisey so I sold it. Now I’m eyeing up a dark lord re-release after watching andrews monaco trip and trying it on at my local boutique. 😬😬😬
OK I agree that The Monaco is the iconic square design. HOWEVER the TAG version is not it, not even close sorry George. All 3 of you guys swung and missed. The OG 50’s Monaco is the Alpha & Omega 1133. TAG is a 90’s fraud/anchor that continues to drown Heuer. Sorry George, I know they’re a cash cow for you but the continued TAG informercial that you bring every week is thinly veiled behind some kind of Gin 🤷♂️
Wore this watch while doing dishes and I got condensation on the dial. Returned it. It completely put me off from buying a Tag. It’s just a step down from true premium brands. Ended up getting a Breitling Superocean instead and I couldn’t be happier.

Monaco is it's own thing, the Nomos Tetra doesn't homage it but does square well.
That’s the only square piece that came to my mind too. Not a chrono, but a square done well.
The Monaco is the only Tag I’d wear. Just cannot be replaced or imitated seriously. It’s a one and done! 🥂

Monaco wears like a brick on the wrist. Looks good on display is about it.

50's Monaco? The watch came out in 1969.
Not a square but a different shape and irreplaceable as an icon would be the Hamilton Ventura, that could have been brought up as an alternative.
