Almir is everything skating should be, fun, weird, innovative. He is the opposite of what the industry wants yet he's everything it needs. He's trying to be a Mullen in the years where its getting harder and harder to be a truly original skater. He's chosen his path and he does it very well.He does for skating what john Zorn or Steve albini did for music. His enthusiasm and love for the hobby/art puts him ahead of most skaters in my opinion. He's a renaissance man, and just like john cage and Jackson Pollock and werner herzog were seen as weirdos perverting their subject, yet are now recognized as geniuses, I imagine the skateboard- version of this will befall almir.

The higher we got the more we were starting to skate like Almir, laughing the whole time, my buddy actually started landing pressure flips using the inside of his foot. 24yearssk8nerd op8surviver I skated a small flat bar and 5 ft half pipe for an hour on acid until it got too intense. Everything felt real dialed in but like I said about a hour in the halfpipe got too intense.
What sets this dude apart from similarly experimental skaters like Richie Jackson and Gou Miyagi is that this guy goes hard as fuck. To see that level of creativity intersect with some real death-defying gnarliness is super inspirational. Wicked video.

I'm really into this style of skating atm, people like william spencer, richie jackson and this guy i really hope this is the future of skateboarding, oldschool freestyle mixed with modern obstacles with some good technical street thrown in.
