I've been skateboarding for 25 years and some of the negative comments on this video make we want to quit skating and not be affiliated with skateboarders ever again. This is the most inspiring and creative video I've ever seen. Pure skateboard talent and creativity not to mention incredibly well pieced together production-wise. Fuck everyone who even dares to criticize this. This video is everything skateboarding should be. HAILS FROM THE BARRIER KULT
All the hate when this came out was crazy, i used to throw this on at the shop and dudes would be like wtf is this? 12 years later ive lost the dvd and now all this dudes skating is super relavent now lmaoooooooo.
One aspect of this part I appreciate the more I watch it is how the music is used in this part. Its really impressive the way some parts of the songs are synced almost perfectly to a trick. And I love the use of b-roll that also fit super well with the beat. Attention to detail like this is what makes a skate part enjoyable for me and we need more stuff like this in the west.
Creative skating like this is 100x more common nowadays than it was when this part was new. Back then the name of the game was more basic tricks down big shit landed bolts. I'm 24 & grew up being into freestyle / more freeflowin shit nd this vid was a huge inspiration & one of the only examples of this kinda lane of skating at the time. This is still cream of the crop but guys like rollersurfer, villani, Aaron Yant, brands like Magenta & Fancylad - none of that was around back then. Miyagi a real innovator & inspiration
Unlike the many parts pumped outta Thrasher, Jason Park, Richie Jackson and Gou Miyagi will never be forgotten. This shit is etched into skate history.
@@zubairpatel5451 Gotta give some mad props to "newer" guys too like Kilian Martin! I feel confident saying there will always be guys to carry the torch that is recognizing that truly creative skating is still an art-form more than just a sport or activity.
I'm skating to the soundtrack with skateboarding sounds in the background since 2009 :D even bought the released one from overground broadcasting but it's not the original song.
@@playboineeks8840 same TT___TT i think its an unreleased track by yousuke nakano and One Peace Session Band. i wish i saw this comment before I ordered the CD lol.
Crazy how much time has passed already. When I saw this video back in 2012ish it got me back into skateboarding. So much respect to Takahiro Morita and Gou Miyagi
this is one of my favourite skate videos. so talented and unique. just what a skater should be. i hate the way all people know tony hawk, but other amazing skaters dont really get recognized.. such a shame. oh well i love it x
I skate since I was 9, I'm 21 now. Several times, while I watched this EXCELLENT video, I were wondering "I could go to japan, and learn some of this guy's secrets". Really good skills and style.
now thats creative.. i love it when skaters are creative and find new spots and skate em in new ways.. i wonder how long time it took to find all those weird rails.. i wanna skate em

Only other person I've seen do that is Richie jackson

Man haven't seen this in awhile, I'm still in awe this is timeless
this was definitely a video part ahead of it's time, I remember being mind blown the first time I saw this maybe 10 years ago

The Thrasher vid is nothing compared to this one.
No bs
I feel like his style just became more abstract as time went on
That one’s still great though
Proof that skating can be a form of art
Can be? Is
Revisiting this part cause of his newest one. Damn, the filming & editing was so ahead of it’s time

I've seen a lot of skate videos...all styles and eras...but this video has no rival or even comparison. Might as well be a Sundance short. ;)

Juzu a.k.a. Moochy - Snake Head Koza
it's only available in the CD of the soundtrack

i bought the CD. the intro part is the only part on the soundtrack... the rest of the song isnt even on there smh
Love when I don't see the same old tricks done the same way with a bit of a tweak! This was entirely unique and deserves a big HELL YEAH!

Gou Miyagi totally did what his mom asked him to: "Son, you like skateboarding? Then become the best skateboarder in Japan."
this is one of the best skate vid i have ever seen
Excellent video! Thanks for your art!
I Think Gou should ride together with Andy Anderson and maybe even Richie Jackson for maximum creativeness.
Excellent videography, filiming and editing was top-notch.
Can't belive I forgot about this part! This is really one of my favorites...
I love all the night skating with no janky floodlight setups. Japan is so well-lit!
